I'm from Chicago and I go to Asha...they are in the suburbs and the city. I've never had a bad haircut and their staff is always impeccably trained. Hope that helps!
I usually Yelp places. Look up hair salons in your area and you can see the reviews prices, hours, etc. It's really informative.
Back in the day if I were to want something special I went downtown to the Charles Ifegran salon, when I needed something smaller done I stuck around e-town and went to the Steven Papageorge salon. I think its on Sherman...its been a few years since I lived there.

Hi all! So I know this might be a long shot, but I've got waist length hair that needs a trim! The wedding is in just over 4 months, so I'm nervous that if someone butchers it, I'll end up having to get even more cut off and that it won't have time to grow out for the wedding! I usually go to cheaper places, because they do a good job with simple cuts (I'm an engineer, and don't put any product or effort into styling my hair), but places like that also can take a few tries before you find someone good. On the other hand, when I've gone to fancy salons, I usually get some person with an "artistic vision" that's nothing like what I want, and I end up with a 'do that needs 4 kinds of goo in it to look good (read: it will never look good ever again because I dont have the time/energy/skill for complicated goo application).
So, does anyone have any suggestions for a good, simple, straitforward place to get your hair cut?
Thanks!!
