I didn't try any on, but i think if you set a date you're engaged, you're just waiting for the ring ;)... Aren't the staff at Alfred Angelo's awesome?! Trust me if you would have found the dress you would have known, you would keep thinking of it, keep referring back to it or just think aha this is it. Or you could cry or try it on three times (i tried mine on three times with three different veils).
check out maggie sottero dresses and sottero and midgley dresses. they're gorgeous dresses and the price tags on them arent that bad.
Alfred Angelo is my FAVORITE designer so far. I wish I could find one close to me to go window shopping.
My mom and I will probably go when we're in Atlanta this week since she lives 400 miles away. Coincidentally, it's the same trip that my boyfriend is asking for my parents blessing!
I waited until after I got my ring. I love Alfred Angelo, I went to the grand opening in MD and I was torn between 2 dresses when my Mom suggested we check out David's Bridal down the street. Turns out I found my dress there :) and Eddie, the lady that helped me was the BEST ever, I'm sorry you had a bad experience there. Have fun shopping.
@ Crebre: It was such a relief! Even in trying on the gowns that were, ahem a little snug, the sales associate was super professional, kind and helpful. Hey I'm not sample size, what can I say! lol
@Potatoes Where are you in Ohio? There is a store in Dayton and a few retailers in the area that carry their gowns.
I'm in Southern Ohio. I'm actually pretty close to Georgia's Bridal, but they just relocated and I don't know if they're open yet.
Shopping is fun no matter what the "excuse"... and you really don't need a ring just to try on stuff, if you find one you like you can always come back later or order it online.
Yeah, my mom definintely brought up dress shopping for while we're home! Guess we'll go, but that means my aunt will want to go and THAT'S NEVER GOOD. Goodness, I feel like even though Mr. KM and I are going together, we'll be spending alot of time apart! And he'll be spending alot of quality time with my dad and that's kinda scary.

Since we set a date, I totally went dress shopping today. Kind of on a whim, after work, called my mom and we headed over to the Alfred Angelo that just opened this past weekend. The staff was so super friendly and helpful, which is such a relief since I had such horrid experience at davids bridal as a bm in a prior wedding. Found a few dresses that I would keep in mind but didn't really have that moment.. Maybe it's because I don't have the ring yet?
Has anyone else tried on dresses before the ring?
