My Fiance and I have only been engaged since Christmas, but we’ve been talking about getting married and our life beyond the day we say ‘I do’ for a long time now. So I have already started the transformation into my new future last name. Meaning, I set up an email address with it. And that’s it lol. (We’re still a year plus out, so I’ve got plenty of time!)
Anywhooo… I was going online right now to pay a speeding ticket (damn lead foot, damn you!) and was, for whatever reason, trying to sign in to find my ticket info with my at-least-a-year-in-the-future-last-name and wondering why in the hell it kept telling me “no results”?!?!?
Anyone else accidentally go by their future last name too early?

I make a hotmail account for me and my new last name far before I changed it. Now, since we are legally married, I still have to stop and think about signing my last name I always start to write my old one.

Before we were married I gave DHs phone number at the grocery store and they said “Thank your Mrs. _______” and I was like oh Im not married yet! But it was kind of neat 🙂

I made dinner reservations by phone one time for a prom… They lady said ‘Thank Mrs. “His Last Name” ‘ Lol! We were only 17 at the time!

I do that far too often! I guess it’s good, though, since I’ll have a new last name in three weeks!

@jayelcee85: We are date twins!
And I just did that yesterday on our DJ planner sheet. I wrote Him and Me HisLastName.
I do it a lot!

@tksjewelry: that’s probably going to be my biggest adjustment. I sign my name at work about a bajillion times a day!
@PitBulLover: I do that too! His brother works at a major chain store, so if we use his bro’s number, he gets his discount coupon faster (or something like that lol) but every time I go grocery shopping and they hand me my receipt I get giddy. They probably think I’m crazy HAHA
@MsYellowJacket: awwww that’s sweet 🙂
@jayelcee85: & @xo_triciazach_xo: oh you ladies are sooo close!!! I bet you’re both excited beyond belief!!

I recently introduced myself with my maiden name after having taken DH’s name 5 months ago. My colleagues got a great laugh at that.

Never accidentally, but on purpose.
If telemarketers call and ask “Is this Mrs. HisLastName” I always say, “Why yes, YES it is”. LOL.
Or yea, in groceries stores, I never correct them.
Ordering Pizza I always say “Sheena HisLastName”.
Random things. Haven’t set up an email yet though! Thought about it, but am too chicken until I actually change my name! Weird? I know.
I sign my name about a gazillion times during the day, so I can definitely see that being a challenge once I change it.

@WineAndCupcakes: I am very very excited! 🙂

I did the opposite, I kept saying my maiden name even though my name was already legally changed!
The funniest time was when a bartender made fun of me, because everytime I went up to the bar I said my name is ____ (maiden name) and he goes do you mean “married name?” and just started laughing at me

@PitBulLover: That just happened to me for the first time the other day!! I started blushing and giggled like a little girl.

Yep. Haha. I actually wrote his last name on an exam for my one class. My professor was confused and asked me about it. She thought it was cute but I was so embarrassed. The funny thing is that I don’t even think that I am going to take his name!

haha i cant stop using my maiden name – i’ve only been married a month but both my husband an I are having trouble with it…he used to always call me by my first and last name and it sneaks out every once in a while. He makes me laugh – im like you do remember i got married right?

About a year ago Fiance worked at a grocery store so if I used his phone number I got an extra discount. The first time they said “Have a nice day Mrs. hislastname.” all I could say was “Thank you” with a very blushed face. Even though he stopped working there I still use the number and still get called that every time. Even the manager knows that name as my last name. It’s pretty great.
The guy we go to for sushi thinks we are already married so he calls me that all the time even though we have told him multiple times I have just given up on that.
I really don’t mind it, I actually prefer that last name. I have not however set up an email with that last name. I think I am too chicken to actually do that.
