I’ve been having crappy week (I know it’s only Monday but it’s been crappy since the past few weeks!) and I just wanted to vent!

I’m in weird transition now so I have tons of free time. I thought I’d take the chance to get rid of junk in my house. So I’ve been selling and giving a lot of free stuff away via craigslist and have met the most annoying people recently!

One guy or gal (can’t tell from the email address) replies to ALL the free listing I post. I’m talking about a wide range of things like from old wedding mags, old encyclopedias, to a broken bed frame (yes I did post a broken bed frame and someone actually drove all the way to take it!). It felt very weird at some point.

Another one was so bossy. I was giving her free stuff yet she made me work around HER schedule, showed up an hour late (I had told her not to come because I had guests but she showed up anyways!). One top of that told me she could not double park and had me BRING the stuff out to her.

Another one had me wait on the curb for 30 mins in the cold coz he “couldn’t find a place to park and had to swoop by to pick it up”.

And the last lady told me she was “running late and on my way to somewhere” and asked me to walk to the subway station (HECK!) I stood there but she was late so I went to a close by starbucks. She called and I told her where I was and 20 mins goes by she doesn’t show up coz she went to the wrong starbucks.

Oh and I had some unopened bags of coffee beans that I’m not going to use and thought it was a waste to throw away. The person that came to take it was rudely nagging what else I had to give away and if the giveaway was regular was a one time deal.

It’s so weird! I always try to choose to respond only to someone that seems nice. And I always tell them they have to come get it at my place (I mean you’re getting a free coffeemaker can’t you climb up 4 flights of stairs and get it?). Maybe I should just throw my unwanted things in the garbage instead of trying to reduce waste/recycle in order to save my time and sanity!

Sorry about the random vent….Anyone else ever dealt with annoying people on craigslist?

Arg. I just typed a response and somehow got rid of it.

Weird!  I have only sold a few things on Craiglist and never had any issues.

I wonder if the person who is replying to ALL of your posts is selling things afterwards. My mom and I had a garage sale in September and there were these people who came by with pick up trucks overflowing with stuff!  They would try to barter.  My mom and I would compromise on price but they would want to give like pennies on the dollar.  They came back the last day and asked if they could have it ALL for free.  I am positive they were reselling.

I hope you stop getting nut jobs!

@msmonicka, yeah I hate those spams too! So annoying!

@Helstrong, wow for real! I never thought of that but it must be possible.

I'm just taking the rest of my stuff to Goodwill or Salvation Army:)

yeah I usually donate my stuff to a place like goodwill ... that way I get rid of it, someone in need benefits, and I don't have to deal with wierdos!

THe times I've tried to sell stuff on CL I just get a bunch of flakes! I end up sitting around all day for people to show up and no one does!
