Anyone else stressing, thinking that a quick elopement & straight to a honeymoon would just be so much cheaper & simpler & less of a headache? I dont plan on doing any of that, but just thinking about how much money, time & stress we’ll save by doing that, makes it all the more tempting lol… just wanted to vent 🙂

@cdenise89: Everyone does.
Oh and by the way, hello fellow NC bee. I lived in Hickory for 20 years before moving to the “big city” (Raleigh) last year.

@cdenise89: 100% THIS
I just know I would let people down (mostly my DAD), if he does not get to be apart of this moment. Darn my good conscious!!

@cdenise89: Absolutely it was a though that crossed my mind.
However, I read from many Bees in the past that elopement can be just as hard. Maybe not money-wise, but can you imagine if you just said screw it and left with no parents, siblings, anyone and then after your fantastic honeymoon have to come back to that to deal with? That was the only reason I chose not to take my eloping thoughts seriously. That, and I knew I was just too stressed, lol.

About 1-2 times a month, if not more.
I never would, and I’m sure I’ll love our big wedding that is everything I’ve always wanted. But dealing with the logistics, money, and family…that I could do without.

I do, right now. And I talked about it to my FI. My poor love, I told him very clumsily that I wasn’t sure about the wedding anymore. He looked at me with puppy eyes ”you don’t want to marry me anymore ?” NOOOOO, that’s not what I meant ! Fortunately I could re-phrase that correctly with my thoughts about eloping, and he said we’d talk about it and decide according to us.

I’m pretty sure that every time I start working on the wedding, I look at FI and go “can we elope yet?” with a sad face, haha. I know it will be great in the end, but geez I hate planning it.

@cdenise89: It is! And I creeped around and saw that you were getting married at the Hitching Post. I thought about getting married there too but decided to have a small backyard wedding instead. They do have elopement packages.

@cdenise89: ABSOLUTELY. Our families would be heartbroken, so we can’t in good conscience actually do it, but we definitely have “Hm… seems like losing that 4k in deposits would be worthwhile right about now” moments!

- Wedding: November 2013 - St. Augustine Beach, FL
@cdenise89: Yep and the closer the wedding gets, the more I wish we had eloped.
Post # 15
@cdenise89: Yes! And that’s exactly what we are doing. Lol. We canceled everything and eloping just the two of us.

@cdenise89: Yes, this was our original idea but then got swept away with the traditional way for parents & friends.
