…or, of course, actually made your own wedding bands? I ask because I did a couple of jewellery making courses a few years ago that were just the most fun and I’m thinking of eventually doing another course so I could make our wedding bands. I made a bunch of elaborate rings and pendants by making wax carvings and having them cast in silver and also had a chance to do stone setting, but band rings were the easiest things to make and I could play around with the textures and finishes, and maybe rope the boyo into it too.
Has anyone else thought about this or done it and has cool pictures? Also, for the price of the courses that I did in addition to the cost of the metal, it was actually really, really cheap for the tonne of jewellery that I made, so I’m thinking it may even be more economical that buying bands, not to mention more special (I only mention cost because I saw something on here a while back about a NY-based company that lets you make your own rings for $2000ish a pair, which is waaaaaay more than my courses cost).
