Every now and then I’ll read a book or watch a movie and think to myself ‘why can’t FH be more like…’ now I realize that FH is a real person and not a character in a movie or a book that has been created to make people think that. Just wondering who you have ‘wished’ your SO could be more like?

Not in personality, but every once in a while I’ll watch or read something that’s a period piece and wish I could see DH in a high collared coat, tight breeches and riding boots… <3

@MsGinkgo: Nope, but I do like certain characters because they will remind me of my husband in one way or another. I also tend to pick companions that look/sound like my husband when I’m playing an RPG (i.e. Stenvar in Skyrim).

Yep. All the Nicholas Sparks movies’s main male characters lol.
I love my husband to death, but he isn’t some deep moody soul. He’s pretty “what ya see is what ya get.” But you know, it’s always nice to imagine him being some brooding lover who professes his love for me in a serenade 😛
I’m sure there are days when he wishes I was a victoria secret model housewife who cooked, cleaned, looked like a goodess, & never nagged.
But, we’re real people & there is a lot of beauty in that too 🙂

@MrsSkeletonKey: Lol – my FH isn’t particularly romantic and sometimes I wish he was more so. He’s also not much of the take charge type – sometimes I’ll see a movie with a strong romantic lead who sweeps the leading lady of her feet (literally and figuratively) FH just isn’t that. Wouldn’t trade him for anyone but it’s fun to dream sometimes 🙂

I sometimes see/read a romantic scene and wish DH could be just a bit more romantic. It doesn’t help that he scoffs during all the romantic scenes when we watch a movie! Beyond that I’ve never really wished he was like characters in the stuff I read. It seems like the guys in my books are kind of moody…

@MrsSkeletonKey: I’d shoot myself (or him) if he was like any Nicholas Spark’s characters, lol. I can’t even get through any of those books or movies because they are just so unrealistic. Don’t get me wrong – MrPanda99 is a huge teddy bear and such a romantic sap. He just isn’t always like that and doesn’t make me nauseated like Ryan Gosling did in that godforsaken Notebook (which I only watched a bit of).

Bodice rippers. Why can’t real men have magical penises that cause multiple orgasms by sight alone?!
I’d love my man to steal me from a ball, throw me over a horse, spend a night ravishing me, and make me his Marchioness in the morning!

@MsGinkgo: …I once read a trashy romance novel where the guy was trapped in a mirror…there are days I wish Mr. 99 were trapped in one too.

@BrandNewBride: Lol – yep, those sometimes too!
@Nona99: yup – have those days too 🙂
