I booked the Evergreen in November for a summer wedding and I thought the same thing -- I don't know how 170 guests could fit comfortably for a seated dinner unless you split the tables between the tented portion and the building portion. We're having about 130 and I don't know that I would feel comfortable with more than 140. Especially because every vendor that I have contacted, caterers especially, stresses how great of a number 130 is for that space. It makes me think that too much more would be a crowd. But you could always ask Evergreen them for photographs of a set-up with enough round tops for 170. You might be able to do it with tables of 10 but I think that's too many at one table (I've been to weddings with 10 per table and you can barely move your chair). Good luck!
Hi everyone! I replied via pm to Danandvanessa, but I thought I'd post here for the benefit of future brides...we had 15 tables and 140 people (our "head table had only 5) and it didn't feel cramped at all. Our dinner was served buffet style with the serving tables off of the patio area. Here are some pics of the venue set up if you're interested.

Hi Everyone,
I'm curious to hear from anyone familiar with this place. I saw the Carriage House at the Evergreen this past weekend and thought it was great. I am concerned about capacity though. They say 170 can have a seated dinner in the tented area. I've been to places where they have a max capacity on paper, but in reality people are more comfortable, space-wise, with a lower number.
Has anyone had 170 in this space? How was it set up? Did they all fit in the tented area?
Thanks!
