Oh don’t worry! I will never find my inner beauty and be confident without makeup! 😛 I have such pale skin that I have awful redness and dark circles. I use Sonia Kashuk mattifying primer and the Sonia Kashuk foundation with Urban Decay setting spray. I save the powder for touchups so it doesn’t look cakey from the start. I love it! I use the Too Faced bronzer for contouring. My nose is so oily, it’s like I smeared on petroleum jelly. It really does work for me. It should work for you! 🙂

Allyg:  I have the same skin type and I’ve always had an issue with my face being like a huge oil slick.  I recently changed up my makeup and it’s helped a lot!  I use Neutrogena’s Shine Control Primer, Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, and Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder.  They are a bit on the expensive side, but a little goes a long way with these products and since they all work so well together, I think it’s totally worth it.

Personally I’ve suffered from extremely oily skin since puberty, so I’ve had a lot of issues with foundation. It always used to start melting off my face after a certain amount of hours… I tried so many foundations and I always had the same problem. However, once I started using Almay liquid foundations for oily skin, I had much better luck. I use the clear complexion fluid and pair it with Jurlique’s citrus silk dust, which is an oil-absorbing translucent powder. I’m acne-prone and have rosacea and I’m pretty pleased with the coverage of the almay liquid. It’s medium coverage, but you can build it up without it getting cakey. My skin still gets oily, but my makeup never melts off anymore. I’m very pleased =D

i have the most oily skin in the world and i use almay truly last color foundation and i love it. it really lasts and my face doesn’t feel like an oil slick. i also use monistat chafing gel as a primer- it has the same ingredients as smashbox primer, but it’s only like, 7 bucks. and if i want an extra boost of staying power i use urban decay de-slick setting spray.

Allyg:  I have rosacea and my skin ranges from oily to dry all the time. Someone recommended using MUFE #1 (to cover the red) and blend it with Almay. Instead I started using Maybeline’s new BB cream with salicylic acid (with the MUFE), which really keeps the oiliness under control. I also use Physician’s Formula, their minerals line. I really like it, however with the dryness it flakes sometimes. I do not think that would be an issue with your oiliness though. .

First things first. The best thing I ever did for my oil slick of a face was to start using a facial oil. I know this sounds counterintuitive, putting oil where you produce oil, but it has done wonders. I use Clarins Lotus oil, and it has changed my skin, seriously.

Next, I have used every darn high end foundation known to womankind, and the best is Revlon colourstay. I only use the one for NORMAL not oily skin. I also love Mirenesse studio magic BB pore powder. It gives a flawless finish.

Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. Best foundation I’ve ever used.

I have been using the Neutrogena’s shine control foundation and Bare Mineral’s Mineral Veil on top. I too have always had very oily skin, and this seems to work wonderful for me!  I also prefer a very sheer/ natural looking coverage.  I’m not AS acne prone as I was in high school but I have to keep up with my skin, or i WILL break out.  When I was struggling with acne I used Neutrogenas acne clearing foundation under my bare minerals, which I also really liked.

If you are a high end makeup kinda girl, I highly suggest Makeup Forever HD foundation! That stuff lasts for ever, and keeps you very matte. Another suggestion is using benefit Pore-Fessional (Keeps you matte, and your pores minimized), and for a powder I really like the Urban Decay setting powder, and plus the Matte spray that they have. 🙂

If you are a drugstore makeup kinda girl, I suggest Covergirl Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation! Very impressed with the performance of this. For a good drugstore primer, I would either have to say NYX mattifying primer, or Maybelinne Baby Skin pore refiner. And ofcourse my most favorite drug store find in the world… Rimmel Stay Matte Finishing Powder. That stuff is legit, and is only around $4!
