Hi all! After my wedding I cut off 8 inches of my hair. i was wondering if it is appropriate for a 35 yo woman to wear headbands for like every day or to go to a wedding etc. I am looking on getting some inexpensive ones….about 5 of them to start and looking for where to find or go to get them? Here’s my hair. I can also add more texturizing balm to it and make it more spiked (or messy) in back.

@jessyrez: Of course!!! I love your haircut, BTW. You can find good basic headbands at the dollar store or Claire’s and add embellishments with a glue gun. It’s easy! I’m 39, and tend to wear jeweled barrettes when I dress up. I have little pearl and rhinestone ones that I got at Claire’s and they go with most of my dresses. One of my favorite short hair dressy looks is Gwyneth Paltrow in Sliding Doors:

I’m 35 and I wear headbands often. They look super cute with the right hair cut, especially when you have a fringe/bangs. Your hair looks great, have fun with it 🙂

Your short cut looks amazing! I always envy long hair but I get so excited every time someone does the chop and it looks fantastic! I have been a short hair girl my whole life, and I just realized headbands are what I need!

I see no issue with wearing a head band. Obviously a classy one and not a pink giant bow little kid one. haha I like pretty rhinestone or pearl design ones for occasions.

I get most of mine from Anthropologie. For everyday ones, I wear the headband version of these: http://www.anthropologie.eu/anthro/product/accessories-hair-acc/7156438000010.jsp’ defer=’defer
They have a nice variety of colors.
They also have nicer ones too if you’re looking for dressier ones.

I think the key is to not choose anything too cutesy. I have a thick black one and a thin metal one that I wear all the time. Examples:
