- Wedding: October 2013
Anybody else SO TIRED of hearing everyone’s opinion about everything???? I never knew how many people had opinions about the tiniest of details at my wedding. I have gotten FIVE e-mails from relatives about ideas for toasting flutes they think Fiance and I should use. Which is fine, and perfectly nice to offer, but it becomes crazy when they argue with me – and each other – about it! Like, I can’t just pick out what I want, because they all have a million and one other ideas and are all convinced they’re right. REALLY? What would happen if, God forbid, I just used the flutes I got for a birthday gift from good friends a few years ago?! What if they are not SO SO SPECIAL?
Nothing. Nothing will happen. We will drink champagne out of them and be happy and not thinking, “God, I wish we had used different toasting flutes. Day is ruined!” No matter what I do, someone is going to be mad about the glass I am drinking champagne out of at my wedding. And that is nuts.
Now my future in laws are throwing a conniption fit because they were under the impression I was doing something they asked, and I’m not, for a variety of reasons. There are hysterics and threats and they will only be happy if I do exactly what they asked, which doesn’t even make sense.
It’s sad because I’ve enjoyed the planning process, but now people are making me so crazy I just want it to be over. We have our marriage license, and it’s taking all my willpower not to grab a witness and go get married!
