Hi bees! My wedding is in about two months, and after a long engagment and lots of planning, I’m thrilled – just wanted to share my wedding day attire/accessories, venue, and some of our details with the hive. Of course there’s still a few kinks to work out and the universe has thrown a couple curveballs my way (work is crazy right now and I’m having trouble getting any extra time off for preparation and our honeymoon, plus my sister just got engaged last week so I want to make sure I share the spotlight with her and that she gets to enjoy her special time without feeling overshadowed by my wedding, etc – you guys probably all remember how exciting that period right after getting engaged is!) Still, I’m so excited seeing all the elements of our wedding coming together!
Take a look and tell me what you think 🙂 Venue (ceremony and reception in this same room: Dress (I’ll be removing the flower from the back):
Belt: Ceremony and reception shoes respectively:
Hair inspiration: I really liked the idea of a flower tucked into my french braid, but then I thought it would be really neat to use an organza flower with a few pearls pinned in instead, so that I could pass the flower down to a daughter or granddaughter as her something old, so I’ll be using these pins from Etsy with some real leaves tucked in:
Bridesmaid dresses, worn with neutral heels of each bridesmaid’s choice:
Bridesmaid accessories, along with pearl bracelet: Groom/groomsmen suit (not my picture obviously, but to give you an idea): with navy ties. Boutonniere inspiration sent to my florist: Bridal bouquet inspiration sent to my florist (white in-season flowers with lots of leaves and green filler, wrapped in navy and white ribbon): and Bridesmaid bouquets inspiration sent to my florist (blue/slate accents to pair nicely with their navy dresses, plus lots of green filler as well, wrapped in ivory ribbon): Cake inspiration sent to my baker (Italian-style fruit tarts, a nod to my grandparents’ northern Italian heritage): and We have our venue, officiant, caterer, photographer, makeup artist, hair stylist, videographer, most of our honeymoon, and our wedding hotel block all booked. We’re still trying to decide on flowers Not much to do now except keep working on our centerpieces (thinking just lots of leaves and in season flowers as table runners, since we have open seating and long tables for our reception meal). Something like this maybe: or this: with lots of candles. We don’t really have a theme – anything more than “getting married in a pretty space with nice decorations”. Our venue is a conservatory, so there’s going to be lots of beautiful May flowers everywhere, inside and out, and so I tried to kind of go natural and neutral to complement the decor/venue. Tell me, bees – how does it look? Too many flowers or mismatched colors? I like having a fresh set of eyes take a look at my plans. Please let me know what you think!
