I just picked up burlap that I ordered and was sent to me. It looks good-10oz, not to “scratchy”. I have 30 yards of it. IT STINKS! I mean horrendous stink. I have heard to hang up outside in sun but well, I live in coastal BC and we aren’t anywhere near sunshine yet!
It’s obviously treated . What can I do? Any tips? We are making table runners and pennant flags with it for my July 2nd wedding.
The smell is so powerful it’s nauseating.

I got in Burnaby, BC. I heard that it’s normal for this though because it’s treated and to be used for things like landscaping, sandbags etc).
*hoping for sun soon so I can hang it up!*

Definitely try Febreeze, or dryer sheets tucked into it in the box. If it’s not rainy out, you might hang it outside to air out anyway, even without sunshine.

Haha I know how you feel!! We didn’t have any sun to hang these things in eh??
I got a bunch of burlap sacks from Buckerfields here on the island and they smell just like a barn! I don’t mind since I grew up on a farm but still, the house smells like we have sheep running around in it LOL Kepping my fingers crossed the air outside will get rid of it during the reception LOL
