For favors we are doing homemade brownies. Actually a favorite family recipe for cookie brownies – chocolate chip cookie dough with melted chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk poured on top, then baked to yummy awesomeness! I’ve got little boxes for them and I’m planning to display them sort of like this picture I found on Martha.
But I’ve been struggling with finding paper in the right shades that I like. I came up with an idea I’m excited about tonight though! I used Illustrator to make 8 1/2 x 11 sheets with the right shades of blue and gray and I’m printing cheesy tv show theme song lyrics on them! All about friendship and family as a way of thanking our guests. So far I’ve got Golden Girls of course, Cheers, Friends, Full House, Family Matters, Wonder Years, Kate and Allie, and Gilmore Girls.
Think that’s a good number for 100 or so favors? I’ll print each one about 13 times. Any shows that I’m missing that I just have to have?

I absolutely love this idea, and I think you are executing it perfectly! How big are the boxes and where did you find them? Also, are you planning to line them with anything?
Sounds like a pretty good list of shows but I will see if I can think of any others.

That’s the same thing I did with my envelope liners–printed my own when I couldn’t find the right paper color!
I think that’s a cute idea!

My boxes are a little bigger than the ones in the pictures, 5 1/2 x 2 1/4 x 1 1/4 I think. I’m also having trouble finding white platters big enough, but I think I’m going to look for some white tiles tomorrow. And I’m thinking I’ll put the brownies in little plastic baggies inside the boxes to keep them fresh. The good thing about this recipe though is they are at thier best after a day or so, so I can make them on Thursday and they’ll still be good.

I love it! I totally can hear “Thank you for being a friend…” playing!
