So FI and I set up our registeries over the last few weeks since my first bridal shower is in March. Today I decided to peek at the BBB registry and someone bought us our first gift! we got a punch bowl with eight glasses, woohoo, haha

This is not an item that I was super excited about, but a first gift is a first gift! Guess I should stop registry peaking so I have some surprises to open at my shower :)

Anyone else starting to see items being bought on their registeries??

Just keep in mind you may not get it for your shower!  I was peaking at mine and some of the stuff bought didn't show up at my shower, it showed up at the wedding!

I am excited to see our registry when we get closer to the wedding too!  Although I might try to keep from peeking to keep it a surprise :)

Yeah, my mom bought four place settings of Lenox Chirp for me off my registry for my birthday!!!!

Which, PSA, it is normally priced at $145 or so at Macy's, but online you can get place settings on sale around $100, there is a 20% coupon on the internet, free shipping, and there is a buy 3 get one free.

The normal price for 4 settings is about $600, my mom got four for $225 or so!!! If you have a friend who registered for this, buy now.

I peek at mine ALL THE TIME!  I figure since you registered for it, you pretty much know you're going to get it.  Besides, you don't know who got it for you!

Well, I peeked...a lot. I did stop a few days before my shower, and the week of the wedding I was too busy. However, the humorous part is that there were a few things that were marked purchased that we never received! Still have no idea where those items went.

I also found out last night who the first gift is from! My Aunt Audrey who is in Boston e-mailed me to let me know that she was sending us a shower gift since she cannot attend my Shower in March. I thought that was so sweet of her! She wants me to open the present at the shower so I will act surprised Smile

    thats so exciting!!

FI and I have been living together for quite a while so we're not doing too many traditional registry gifts for the home.  i love the honeymoon wishes registry available here through weddingbee (http://weddingbee.honeymoonwishes.com/)

a couple we know did this and got more than half of their honeymoon airfare to barcelona paid for, a room upgrade, several basically free dinners, local tours, and quite a few "extras" like breakfast in bed, couples massages, etc.  I think its a neat idea for the couple who already has their house put together!  Plus you can customize how much each contribution towards what will be so you can have "gifts" on the lower end ($10 gifts) as well as "gifts" on the higher end (up to $1000).

A great thing about it is that you can put it together even though you haven't decided where you're going.  I got so excited about this registry that I got my FI to help me put ours together already even with our wedding more than a year away!  PM me if youd like to see ours Laughing

Ms. Topsiders- I LOVE Mugato, haha. The pic is very small, but the caption is one of his best lines "I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!" Love it and I can relate! We are registered for an espresso machine, so let's hope I get it :)
