Exercise for outer thighs?

Do you mean saddlebags? Nothing will change the shape of your body. You can lose weight and firm up, but the same shape will always be yours. I have them too! Annoying, aren’t they?

There is a machine at the gym where you are sitting and put your legs in stirrups so to speak. You push out or in, depending whether you are toning inner or outer thighs. Works great! Sorry, I don’t know what it’s called though.

Boy do I hear you. If you looked at any body part except my thighs you would call me “lean” or “athletic” – but I am having the HARDEST time whittling just a pound or two of fat off my outer thighs! It’s maddening! 

 

It is true that you have to lose fat all over to lose it on your thighs. Exercise will only tighten up the muscle underneath, so you’ll have lean legs under a bump of fat. That is totally me. So I count calories, eat clean, and exercise 5-6 times per week. That being said, these are some of my favorite outer thigh exercises:

You bring the leg straight out to the side without bending your torso and keeping the standing leg straight, then when you reach the top of your range of motion, pulse down and up one inch. Do that for 30 seconds each leg and work up!

I would suggest lifting heavier weights (if you’re doing the whole ‘low weight high rep’ thing it probably isn’t going to cut it), also if you eat a clean(er) diet you will have a better shot at seeing the toned muscle underneath- goes for abs as well as thighs 🙂

@legenwaitforitdary:  I had the same issue as you, the dreaded saddlebags. I did a 30 day squat challenge and I noticed it thinned them down a bit, not totally.. but I noticed a difference. Though you said you already do squats, so that may not be the answer for you. Good luck though!

Also, you canwrap a theraband around your lower legs by your ankles and walk sideways. The theraband will give you resistance 🙂 

side-lying leg raises and circles. As a progression add ankle weights
