experience with online flower wholesalers?

posted 2 months ago in Beehive

hey hive!  sister daffodil is interested in using a company like fiftyflowers.com or one of the other online wholesale flower delivery services for her wedding day (the bridesmaids will probably assemble their bouquets either the day of or the day before).  but she is nervous about the service!

have any of you had a good or bad experience? or heard of anyone else's experience? any websites you would recommend?

thank you so much!

Hey Daffodil-

I'm getting married on October 31st, and will be using www.wholeblossoms.com [250 white roses for under $200!].  I would be happy to let you know how it went afterward, if the wedding is far enough away for that to be helpful!

I'd love to know whole blossoms was.  I want to DIY my centerpieces and would look to either purchase gerbera or hydrangea from them.

Hi Daffodil,

I'm getting married Nov. 1 and am using fiftyflowers. I ordered 200 roses and 150 ranunculus to make 10 centerpieces. I did order a sample centerpiece from them back in July to try them out and the delivery came in on time, the flowers were beautiful and lasted me about a week and a half. I'll let you know how everything goes the day of!  But so far I've had a good experience. Their customer service was great. I placed my order in July for the wedding and changed my mind just a few weeks ago. They helped me changed the order without any problems.

I had a bad experience with freshroses.com (also known as 2GRoses.com).  Actually, the white/cream roses I ordered were lovely, but at the last minute they called to say they would be substituting cone hydrangeas for the white fluffy round hydrangeas I'd ordered and, "to be nice," wouldn't charge me the difference (gee, thanks).  They said the cone hydrangeas were a bit green but would be white by wedding day.  Wrong.  They were GREEN green and stayed that way until they died.  Totally unusable.  Their website claims that they don't even offer green hydrangeas because those are just unmatured flowers, and yet that's exactly what I got.

In the end, I found what I needed at my local grocery store, but it was a waste of $200.

Okay, no problem, I'll be sure to post a review.  :]

In the meantime, if anyone knows a really cheap place to get orange roses, please comment or pm me!  I need 50ish roses, but the cheapest I can find is $75.

Thanks :]

NatiSylv, I would love to hear how your experience goes!  Thanks!  And Lina, thanks for the heads up about 2GRoses...they were another wholesaler we were thinking about but now we will stay away!

I used california organic flowers. com. I got I think 144 stems of Dahlias for like $250. They arrived on time and were in pretty good shape considering they had to come to Florida from California. They color options were kind of limited but they had great customer service.
