So are guests doing 3 things - signing a guest book, painting on the canvas, AND signing the coffee table book? That's quite a bit of different things.
No two things. The paint and the coffee table book. There is no traditional guestbook (the coffee table one is like our traditional one)
It sounds good to me! It's easy to understand and your tone is pleasant.
I think you have a couple of typos though:
-we would like you to take a moment TO sign our guestbook during the reception.
-SIMPLY find your favorite photography and sign YOUR name
@Beluga: Thanks. I wasn't sure how to word it without being too wordy. haha most likely! I copy and pasted from powerpoint and it was so small so I typed it here, but could hardly read the font.
Just a question, are they going to be painting in their dress clothes? I have visions of paint getting on silk dresses, and thinking that guests wouldn't want to do that... but that the intention and the actual creation of the mural sounds pretty cool. If you haven't already thought about this... Get some smocks to wear!
So I'm guessing that there is some reason that they will go back to the house during the course of the wedding day?
And I agree about the smocks!
@MissAsB: The house is our venue. We rented a beach house for the reception.
Since it is a beach wedding most people will not be dressed in fancy dress (although I still hope they dress nice). I'm not to worried about it and if people don't want to do it for whatever reason they don't have to. Thanks everyone!

I wanted to provide an explanation of your guestbook in our programs, but need some help with the wording. We are during a "mural". My dad is going to draw an image on a blank canvas and then we are going to grid it off. Each guest will have the chance to paint a square and when it is all complete we will have a painting made by our friends and family.
Here is what I have so far but am not sure:
In order to remember all those who shared in our special day, we would like you to take a moment and sign our guestbook during the reception.
Back at the house you will find a blank canvas. We would like your help in making the image come to life! Please grab a brush and paint a portion of the painting using your imagination. Once everyone has painted a square we will have a work of art to hang in our new home created by all of you!
We would also like you to sign our coffee table book of the Outer Banks. Simlpy find your favorite photography and sign our name or write some words of encourgagment.
