    Hi bees!

My FI and I are going to Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas for 7 days in July...yesterday we decided to extend our honeymoon by 2 days and stay in Nassau (since we have to fly through there on our way home!)....does anyone have any hotel recommendations in Nassau for under $300/night.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

I wrote this review about a year ago.

My FI and I (then bf) stayed for a week at Breezes Bahamas in May/June. We both needed a relaxing getaway on a budget. We were pleased with the all-inclusive resort. The beach was gorgeous! They gave us a "garden-view" room when we checked in, but we asked the front desk to move us to an "ocean-view" room because we had paid extra for a view of the ocean when we booked the trip. The clerk was really nice and helpful. We ended up with a great view. The hotel had a funky smell (probably mold from condensation) but you get used to it.

The food in the dining hall was delicious. We made reservations to eat at the Italian restaurant one night and that was romantic (and yummy). [Note: they are strict about the dress code at the restaurants requiring reservations. We saw the hostess refuse entry into the Italian restaurant to a couple because the guy was wearing shorts instead of long pants.] The bartenders make great drinks, and if you think they aren't strong enough they keep bottles of alcohol out so you can add more to your liking.

They have nightly shows, daily activities, and a nightclub. There are people on the beach that you can take snorkeling excursions with or other water activities. We went on one of these snorkeling trips and I collected several starfish and sand dollars and saw amazing aquatic life on a reef. If you want to just relax on the beach without being bothered by these vendors, there's a quieter area on the beach where the vendors aren't allowed to go. You can also book day trips at the front desk. We took the bus tour around the island. I recommend the island tour, it's really insightful and they stop at some landmarks and Atlantis.

The only real problem we had was the weather...it rained 5 out of 6 days!! :( It kept alternating between sun and clouds each day. We still managed to get a tan and have fun. We were in the Bahamas after all... ^_^

    Happy planning!

@BayStateBride: Thank you! I had heard mixed reviews about Breezes so thank you for sharing! I'm going in mid-July and hoping for good weather!
