Okay, long-ish story… I went to my normal salon over the weekend for my bi-yearly trim (I know, I’m bad). Turns out my regular hairstylist no longer works there so I saw a new stylist. I asked her just to trim the bottom and thin it a little as my hair is super thick and was about bra-strap-length. She seemed very nice, chatted with me about the wedding and even offered to do a trial for my wedding hairstyle. She blew it out and curled the ends under and I went out to dinner with my FI and parents.
When I got home and brushed out the curled ends of my hair it was apparent something was very wrong. There were chunks missing from the bottom of my hair, one side was longer than the other and the back was so terribly blended that it looked like a 5-year-old took safety scissors to it. I called the salon and went back the next morning. The girl wasn’t there (good thing, I probably would have killed her) and they had a master stylist fix my hair for free. She took a picture of it to show the owner of the salon before she fixed it because she was so appalled.
Unfortunately my hair is now just below shoulder length (she had to take another 4 inches off to fix it) and it’s not going to be long enough to do the wedding style I wanted.
My sister suggested clip in extensions but I’ve never used any kind of extensions before. Has anyone used them for their wedding? Do you have any pictures? Other suggestions? I’d prefer to keep it inexpensive but I know they’re not cheap.
This was what I was going for as far as wedding hair, wavy and pinned to the side. I can barely get it all in a stubby side ponytail now. 🙁 :

I loooove my extensions! I bought my clip ins like 2 years ago from Headkandy and they’re awesome. It takes a lot of time to get used to them though! Applying them can be a pain in the ass in the beginning 🙂

OMG that’s awful! I just bought some Euronext extension from Sally Beauty Supply for $129. I got the 14 inch ones and they went to my boobs, so I cut them a bit. It was too drastic for me. But here’s a before and after pic. They are real hair and can be dyed, curled, straightened, etc. They are super easy to install.

I bought some from FoxyLocks. She has a ton of YouTube videos you can watch and it’s all huuman hair. I bought some clip ins a while back, but I haven’t worn them out yet because I haven’t colored them to match my hair. If you send in a picture of your hair color, the company will match you before you order them. I think mine were around $150.

@the_future_mrs: @MissButterTart: Great, I’ll have to check them out!
@iheartsquishy: I was thinking about going to Sally, if for nothing else but to look. I’ll definitely look into the EuroNext, they look great on you.
@anabell465: That’s appealing, I’m worried about finding hair that matches my colour. It’s actually similar to the colour in my inspiration pic, so a bit unusual.

Should add that if you email HeadKandy a few pics of you in natural light they will color match you (usually get back to you same day) so you don’t need to worry about online swatches/monitor distortion of colors. I was afraid when they told me my match since it looked crazy yellow online but it was PERFECT when it came!

Clip extensions are awesome. I purchased mine after a bad hair cut experience and have been wearing them every since. My hair is now just as long as the extensions, but the extensions add lots of volume. Sally Beauty Supply sells clip ins for around $100.

I have clip-in extensions from Luxy hair in jet black that I love love love, they blend in with my hair so well and they take 5 minutes to put in.

I wear clip in on a everyday basis. lol
I LOVE extensions!
and extensions could def achieve the hair you’re looking for!
Honestly, in my experience as long as they’re remy human hair, any brand works fine.

I love my extensions!!!!! I purchased them because of a similiar story to yours, some girl hacked my hair off and I was devasted. My hair has since grown but I still wear my extensions from time to time and will probably wear on my wedding day. I got mine from headkandy too!!
