It depends on how long I can get my hair before the wedding. I found a picture of what I really want to do (an updo) but I cut my hair really short a couple months before he proposed so now I’m trying to grow it back out. If it’s not long enough then yes I’ll use extensions.

By the way, this is the hairstyle I want to use:

I’m soo glad you posted this! I’m really curious about it too just because my hair isn’t thick enough to get the look that I like… Its just the cost that is bothering me because I don’t want to spend a fortune on them. :/

My FSIL had extensions for her wedding. She said they were heavy and hot and she couldn’t wait until her honeymoon was over to have them removed.

She wore her hair half up and it looked gorgeous.

I have clip-in extensions that I used for my wedding and that I have frequently used for other formal occasions.  They worked beautifully.  My hair was up for the ceremony and down for the reception, but I mainly use the extensions for a little extra volume.  I have very fine hair.

I wear extensions on a daily basis so I’ll more than likely wear them on my big day 🙂

@lawbride88:  My stylist was pretty awesome– I told her what I wanted to do and she ran with it.  All we had to do ws take out the pins holding up the lower portion of curls (about 15 pins).  My MOH pulled the pins out for me and it looked awesome!  Ask your stylist if they can do a convertible style– I couldn’t afford a trial, so I got lucky with mine!

@lawbride88:  I’m also in the same boat, trying to figure out to use them or not. In fact I just wrote a board with similar question. I think I might have to go with them to achive the look I want. Only, i would go for clip ins, not sew ins, not to damage hair.

@lawbride88:  Which brand did you choose? I have been looking and came across these www.luxyhair.com but i am not sure how really good they are. ALso, I have the hardest time deciding on the color. They are so expensive and it would kill me if I chose the wrong color.

I went with clip ins from Foxy Locks. I had my stylist handle it so I didn’t practice, but I did dye mine. I couldn’t find red extensions that would match for the life of me so I got blonde and dyed them myself.
