My dress was a size 20. Should I post it or are you looking for only 24+?

Mine was a size 20 Da Vinci T8109, which is an A-Line style. I liked the way my dress fit and felt very confident in it. I don’t normally feel that way in clothes! It’s all about finding the right style.

I liked the rouching on the chest and stomach, it really hid my problem areas. There are lots of tricks for masking the things you don’t like. Remind your friend as well that wedding gowns have much more structure, boning, etc. than normal clothing does, so they are very flattering in the right style. Also, all brides are beautiful no matter what, because they exude happiness and love on their wedding day 🙂

Somewere there is a whole post of plus size brides who posted there dresses- show her, and hopefully shell be more self confident. Once she finds the dress shell feel fine about herself! I promise. I was so nervous myself! Anyhow my dress was a 24 from davids bridal.

EDIT- and the right undergarments will help too!

I just got engaged on the 3rd and went dress shopping with a friend who’s also getting married last week.  I don’t have any pics of her in dresses (she’s a 22, I think), but I have one of me in the only dress David’s Bridal had that I liked.  I’m a size 28.  It’s #9v9665 and, oddly enough, in a 26.

@Sweet_Tea:  im a street size 24. i hate my stomach because i had a kid and now my tummy hangs. your friend will have so many dresses to try on as long as she goes to the right places to look. i liked the higher waisted dresses as they seemed to hide my stomach. the halter dress is from davids bridal, and so is the dress where my hair is braided and sideways lol. all the other dresses im pretty sure are all casablanca (not sure about the rouched dress though, might be a different designer) tell her to try on different styles to see what she likes. i too am wearing my cowboy boots with my dress (none of these as the sample was too small to try on but fits a lot like the last dress) 🙂

@Jen51287:  You chose the perfect dress!

@Sweet_Tea:  While no 2 bodies are built exactly the same (a size 24 can look drastically different from person to person), I think she should start off with princessy type dresses.  The one that Jen wore (above) and the Lazaro Sherbet are the most flattering cuts I’ve seen for any body type.

Bridal size 20 here. I wore the Disney Cinderella 205 and loved it 🙂
