- Wedding: September 2013 - Castle Farms, Charlevoix, MI
Our wedding is about 4 hours away from home, so basically it is a destination wedding. It is also a very popular wedding location with few hotels. Guest are recommended to book hotels 5-6 months in advance. I feel I should include hotel information as well as the fact that this is an adult ceremony and reception. How do I put that in the STD?

@brittanybed: Our save-the-dates were magnets that you could attach to a card before you put in the envelope. Our wedding is also a destination wedding. The website (magnetstreet.com) allowed you to place additional text on the card where you attached the magnet. This is where we posted hotel information and our wedding website. So far, no one has overlooked the information on the insert. Hope this helps!

I have a similar situation – it is out of town for everyone (2.5 – 3 hours for most guests, but more for others) and it’s in a town where hotels can fill up early.
I made a very detailed wedding website and put “Hotel blocks are now available. We suggest reserving your room as early as possible. Hotels often sell out due to university events. Contact us or visit http://www.OurWebsite.com for details.”
That was towards the bottom in a smaller but still easily readable font. We also got blocks at 3 hotels (so a minimum of 60 rooms reserved) that do not expire until a month in advance of our wedding. Plus, once the block gets close to the 20, they’ll add another group so there are always rooms available as long as they still have availability. I don’t know if that’s an option for you.
