@ParisM:  Do you know her birthstone/month of birth? I know that I loved wearing jewelry featuring gemstones from my birth month.

Also, what’s her favourite colour? For example, if it’s purple, I can look for an amethyst ring with pave diamonds (not as expensive as an full diamond ring).

@ParisM:  One more thing before I start looking. Is your limit 300 USD or 300 AUD?

If you can find something in your price range, I would definitely go the diamond route. It’s gonna feel so special to her.

I know that my tiffany studs were $500 so I’m sure you can find something for $300

You all are posting some really lovely suggestions.

@ParisM:  My more tomboyish friends have the David Yurman twisted cable rings, and they love them. Maybe she’d like something similar?

Philip Gavriel ($321-357)                        David Yurman Vintage ($250)

I’d also check out Blue Topaz rings because they’re all beautiful (London, Swiss & Swiss):

Etsy ($129)                             Etsy ($145)

Etsy ($199)

Portuguese cuts are also gorgeous (all London Blue):

Etsy ($180)                             Etsy ($180)

Etsy ($275)

@ParisM:  Pearl studs! I had the choice when I was 16 of getting a small heart shaped diamond ring or pearl studs and I actually ended up getting both. But I wear the studs every day still, five years later. The ring, while I love it, mostly sits in my jewelry box. The pearl studs are timeless and go with everything!

I love Tiffany and Co. so I would have looooooved a charm bracelet for my 16th birthday. The bracelet will be something she will cherish forever and be so proud to wear.
