Hi there! I tried a color set I had never experimented with before
I tried to play a gold tone…I used a very light ivory for my brow bone….i used pinks, purples and browns mixed together
My dress is ivory/gold (spun gold) and my colors are Ivory, gold and Navy blue but I don’t want to venture into navy blue eye-shadow….it sounds risky and i don’t have that color in my collection because it’s just not me
so this morning I came up with this and I have gotten a couple compliments so far…
but today is a workday and i want to know if this is wedding material or not
Oh and by the way, I am wearing MUFE’s HD foundation which when applied looks SUPER YELLOW but now that I see it throughout the day and on camera….looks good to my skin tone and neck…not to mention has a very pretty finish!!!!
any thoughts? do you like the gold/yellow? should it be played up.down? dissapear?

I think there are too many colors going on for an eye…I like the idea of blending, but there are very noticeable distinctions between your colors. The gold is really yellowy in photos.
I like the purple…it’s soft. What about purple and gray? I always think that is a nice combo.
The pink….mauve? chocolate? It’s too heavy and not blended well. It really stands out to me becaues it doesn’t look like you have anything on your brow bone (which is a necessity with that much eye makeup IMO). Something lighter helps you brow bone stand out and sort of “finishes” the look.
That being said…your lips are a gorgeous color. But, they seem to match that pink eyecolor too much. Like, matchy-matchy. What about keeping the warm lip tone and going towards a cooler eyetone? i’m still thinking that purple/gray would look nice on you =].
I liked the other makeups better from your other trials. Have you tried getting a few eye makeovers at some mall counters and then trying to recreate the looks with some new makeup?

I actually like the colors you chose. I just think the application is a little flawed. That gold is coming off a little yellow because it isn’t blended and it just ends abruptly once it leaves the corner of your eye. You should carry the gold over the entire lid. Put it on before you add that purple/brown color you have in the crease.
The crease ends to abruptly too once it reaches just below your brow bone, you need to really blend it more. Also, I would suggest a thicker eyeliner, I don’t know if you even had one on, but a thicker liner will will make those top eyelashed pop a little more.
Other than that, you look beautiful!

agree! just a teeny bit more of a blend at the top and you’re all set 🙂

I think if they were blended better I’d like it more. Right now there is such a stark difference between the colors it’s hard to picture them softly working together =]

Definitely blend, blend, blend! Also, would you consider blending the highlighter shade underneath your brow? It will open your eye up even more & it will fill that empty space. I always use a light shadow on my lower lash line & under my brow because it just makes me look more fresh, open & awake!!
Otherwise, it looks really great. The colors look great with your skin & you’re totally gorgeous to begin with 🙂

I really like the colours you chose!
My one suggestion would be to not bring the dark shad as high up and keep it more in the crease or blend that colour out a bit more as you work toward the brow bone!

Thank you all for such great feedback….obvisouly I need to learn how to blend! Any tips on how to? like Blending fur Dummies? I have brushes and all but I guess I need to learn how to use them better!
And I guess I will play it safer by using tones and applications from my other trials…
This try was born after a Mary Kay lady that does weddings tried some colors I’ve never used (navy blue, ivory, and gold)…The idea was good but it looked like NOt me…

the colors are great on you…. you look so pretty! but you need to blend, blend, blend, so that the lines aren’t so sharp and obvious.

Blend brushes are flat and short-ish and they are rounded at the top and after you apply the colour you just brush across the edges of the colour and that will help to blend the colours together!
You can often find many make-up application tips on you tube too as it is hard to describe – but keep playing and you will get it right!

While navy blue eyeshadow is a bit much for you, navy eyeliner would be stunning. It gives the depth of black, but brightens up the whites of your eyes and helps your eyes pop. Good luck, and keep up the practice!

After all the effort, I had a friend from LA that used to work heavily in the fashion industry and knew all the tricks…she did my make-up and I felt terrific with it on my face
Most of the stuff she used was my own personal buys from Sephora…MUFE Face & Body Foundation, MUFE HD corrector, MAC and Smashbox eye shadows, MUFE liquid eye liner, Dior Show waterproof mascara, I used individual lashes that I applied myself
I was extremely happy with the result.

I love the eyes, but would maybe go with lighter lips. Great job!

I think the colors are actually pretty. Just some blending and maybe a bit more gold and your good to go.
