I am going to get my eyebrows threaded today and decided to see who else gets it done.

I found out about it about 2 years ago and have been going ever since.  I love it and it grows back slower than other forms of eyebrow arching and it's perfectly aligned with your natural arch.

Does anyone else get it done?

I love it too! I agree, the hair grows back slower. I just hate that I live in an area where the closes shop that does it an hour away. I'm going this weekend to get mine done.

@OurWedding: An hour wow. The shop that I go to is like 7 minutes from my job! How often do you go? I go about 2.5 weeks.

I used to do it, and I really liked it. For me, it was somewhere on the pain scale between waxing and tweezing. It got things over faster than just tweezing, but then it didn't hurt as much as waxing :).

@kimbo89: YES!! it does hurt, but it's worth it. I can tolerate that pain. How in the world does she fall asleep?!! My sight gets a little blury from holding down my eyelid so tightly, lol

I get waxed first then have them finished off with threading.

I have always wanted to try it. But the only places near me that do it are in the middle of the mall at a booth. I really don't want to lay down at a booth while everyone is watching.

I use one of those eyebrow shapper razors. I have to use it every other day but it only takes a few seconds so I don't mind it.

@LetsGoPens: You have got to try it. Maybe go as soon as they open, when there are fewer people. I used to get mine done with the razor too, but the arch were almost never the same on both sides. Plus, as you stated, they gre back so quickly!

@PrncssDva: Well I don't really. It's funny as two different stylists have done it this way. But, I think it's because the waxing gets the majority off and instead of waxing again as my skin can't handle two lots of waxing, she threads to get any difficult ones/tidy up.

@Prewitt: Ooh ok. So they waxing doesn't get all of the hair off? Have you ever thought of trying only threading?

Actually my eyebrows are thinning and I have to fill in with eyebrow pencil to make them look fuller! I have never tweezed my eyebrows in my life!

@bluespurrs: So you have a natural arch? Wow....I'm jealous that you don't have to do anything to them.

@PrncssDva: My sister goes for threading. I have been getting my eyebrows waxed for so long that they actually take about 8 weeks to fully grow back. Is threading quick like waxing? She always seems to be in the salon for a while getting it done.

I get mine waxed, but I've always been interested in threading. How much more does it cost than waxing? I mean, I'm sure it's worth it since you don't have to go as often but I'm just curious.

@PrncssDva: I have got quite thick and strong hair and i'd worry I couldn't stand the sensation for that long as I find it like a tickle sort of pain.

@LetsGoPens: Are you close to Robinson? I think there is a salon right down by Macy's that has it's own space and rooms. It kind of looks like a nail shop.

I've done both, but I think threading is way more painful than waxing.  I love getting my eyebrows waxed--it's relaxing.

@Miss Tattoo: 8 weeks?!! Wow that's awesome. The ony reason, where I go, that you would wait a while is because lots of people are there in line. I go as soon a sthe shop opens. It only take about 5 minutes or so.

I tweeze mine but honestly - I only have to take a tweezer to them about once a month and then it is just to get a few stray hairs.  I probably spend 3 minutes tops every month on my eyebrows.

@als87: It's only $8 where I go. How much is waxing?

    @Prewitt: ooh I see. HUmmm...not sure

@mrsmdphd: I guess that's a personal pain thing, seriously. i thought I was going to kill the person that waxed my eyebrows, lol

I loooove threading! I haven't gone in a while, I usually get them waxed.

I seriously hate my eyebrows and I'm prone to attack them with tweezers. For my sanity, it's best if I use a professional....

@PrncssDva: I pay $8 for waxing also but I have to go around every 2-3 weeks...too bad I live in the boonies or I'd go try it!

I like to wax and tweeze.  I have done threading and found it took longer and hurt since the pulling of the hair is not as quick.

I try to go for threading once every few months, just so the eyebrows maintain their shape.  I tweeze inbetween. I would never go back to waxing, I like the look of threading so much better.  I might be a wimp, but I actually think it's pretty painful.

@Ms. Purple: Really? how long does it take to wax and tweeze? My shop has me in and out in 5 minutes.

@EleanorRigby: I have to go back way moe often than every few onths. My hair grows back too quickly.

@PrncssDva: Yeah. I've been getting them waxed for about 10+ years so they grow really really really slow. I'm ready to keep them waxed off and get them tattooed on instead. ^_^

My mom taught me how to do threading on her, so eventually I figured how to do threading on myself. You get use to the pain after awhile.

arenyth    May 14, 2011   planning in CA, wedding in NJ

My mom talked me into doing it over christmas break, I was so surprised at how good they looked! Somehow they gave me these glamorous hollywood eyebrows, I was in love. When I asked FI about it when we got home he said " you look surprised, one is a little higher than the other". Thanks babe. He doesn't know how to compliment -_- I told him that I must look like Scully (X Files) since one of her eyebrows is always higher and he said "yea!" I know he loves her so it must be good, haha. It lasted about 5 weeks, because just yesterday I was noticing that I got a little rougher so I'm looking to find a place local now.

I tried threading once and I had tears streaming down my face by the end.  I wasn't crying exactly, it just made my eyes water.  they said it won't hurt so much next time, but there definaely wont be a next time.  I get them waxed all the time and it doesn't bother me one bit so why was that so awful?
