i just wanted to take a quick survey and ask all the bees who have gotten eyelash extensions what your lash count was per eye? i’m looking at some deals online (nyc has so many, thank GOD), and i realize i don’t really know the first thing about eyelash extensions. pretty? yes. want them? yes! what kind? NO idea 🙂
so please help me out!!!
the options generally seem to be
i’m leaning towards 90 because it seems like 70 trends towards the “natural” look while 110/120 may be too “dramatic.” i’m going for a “made-up but natural” look on my wedding (if that makes any sense…) so i want it to be noticeable without being like wham bam thank you ma’am.
any and all thoughts appreciated! and thank you in advance! 🙂

Hmm, I just realized while reading your post that I don’t know anything about eyelashes either! I tried to do some research for you, but I didn’t come up with much. It appears that there’s not only lash count to consider, but also thickness, size, and curves! Who knew there was so much to lashes?
I read that the average human eye has approximately 100-150 on the upper eyelid. So, I think 90 would probably be a safe bet for a more natural look. Is there any way you can do a trial to see which you like better?

unfortunately, bc my wedding is in 4 weeks (eeek! haha), i won’t be able to do a trial run, relaly. it seems like they last for 3 weeks and then you need touch-ups. i prefer to have my first time lashes set in a litle less than a week before the wedding so they’re nice and fresh – not sure what touch-ups entail, but just from the sound of them it doesn’t seem quite as safe as having them put on solidly for the first time.

Hiya, You will have time for a trial run if you have 4 weeks to go.
Im a Lash extensionist I do lash Perfect ones. The amount of lashes depends on your own.
When you get taught you learn a full set can be from 60 – 110 lashes per eye.
you may have some people with more lashes than other people i did a brides last week who had 70 each eye but the were as full as poss and looked nice and thick on her. You cant put 90 lashes on if you dont have 90 lashes to put them on.
you beautician will prob advise you on this. I ask clients to fill out a form that asks them their desired look for natural to glamourous and wether its more for the length or thickness.
you can only add an extra 1/2 in length of the donor lash to your natural. i.e if my lashes are 10mm in length the longest lashes i can wear is 15mm. and if your lashes were 8 mm the donor length could be up to 12mm and so on.
You get taught this so you dont put excess stress on the natural lashes causing them to fall out premerturely.
At the 3 week point you dont really have any lashes left. I advise my brides to come to me 15 days prior to the wedding day for a full set. then i book them in for infills 3 days prior to the wedding. I would say the lashes look amazing for 1 week and book regulars in every 12 – 14 days. they last different on every one. some that have very oily skin they dont last as long.
during having the lashes you can use products makeup or cleansers that contain oils. this includes waterproof mascara and some liners and eye makeup remover.
You cant have a hot steamy shower or wash your lashes for 24 hr after application. this includes taking dinner out of a hot oven!! this is because during this 24hrs the glue hardens and sets. I hope this gives you the ifo you need to make ur plans!!!
PS make sure you go some where you know is amazing there are all sorts out there doing them and arent very good or wernt trained properley or passing cluster lashes off as individual. maybe go off a friends recommendation.XXX
