I also have ezcema. It occasionally shows up on my elbows. I suggest going to a dermatologist. My doctor prescribed me a steroid cream that takes care of the patches within 2-3 days. I rub some on whenever I get a feeling like another patch is coming on. Also, try not to touch it! 

Hang in there! Everyone says to start beauty/skin treatments 3 months out, so you should be ok if you start now!
