This is just a vent, but I really hope no one has the displeasure of dealing with these asshats. I hadn’t been using my EZPass tag in almost a year. I had stowed it away in my room and just went back to using cash. Turns out that every month they were deducting money from my EZPass account and not even notifying me. This eventually put me into a negative and I received a letter threatening to turn me over to collections. So I called up their customer service and got this: “You be needing to send this back to us (the tag), blah, blah, blah.” She was very rude and belligerent.
So I sent the tag back and indicated in the letter that my name is changed due to marriage. I stated this over the phone and there was no concern. So almost a month after sending this tag back (I sent it from my NJ address to their NJ address) I receive a letter stating that they won’t close the account until I show them proof of my name change and that they will keep deducting funds from my account and sending me into further debt with them. If the belligerent woman on the phone told me in the first place to send proof, I would have and the account would have been closed by now.
I can understand having to show proof of name change with the DMV and CC companies and the such, but EZPass!?!?! Give me a damn break! The fun part is that the letter was sent to my NJ address where my parents still live. I no longer live there. I live almost three hours away in PA and won’t be back to NJ until next Monday. So I have to try to call them tomorrow and deal with these lovely people again. Sometimes I wish I never changed my name. Ugh!!!
