I have been spending the past few days thinking about some details of our wedding, I keep looking at the cost of flowers and its quite daunting. I was looking at making some fabric flowers for boquets..etc. We are having a sapphire blue and ivory colored wedding with maybe some champagne. does my boquet have to be blue and ivory? I was thinking of doing something like this kind of fabric in all the colors, since the picture is small I’ll explain the significance. My Fiance is deaf, and we communicate via american sign language, the fabric has the ASL alphabet all over it. I was thinking of making it into a flower boquet design to something like ….these flowers. Will my boqet and his bout look too out of place because of all the colors? I ideally would like to do this as a surpise for him.
What do you girls think?

What an absolutely beautiful idea! I think he would love it, especially on such a special day for the two of you!! I don’t think your bouquet has to be blue and ivory only. You could always add few flowers of a different color to make it pop! Unlike real flowers, you’ll always have them to remember your day.

Bump. Anyone else have any opinions?

Great idea! I went to a friend’s wedding and she opted to have fabric flowers since real flowers can get so expensive. It also will make a great keepsake for the day! 🙂

I think this is a great idea!
You can pick and choose how & what colors you want to use…. maybe have your bouquet primarily one color? Or just go all out with all the colors!
I did paper flowers for our flowers & actually used printed & solid colored stock. They came out great!
Just play around with them and see what you end up liking 😉

I think its lovely and would add a nice pop of colour. You could also mix in some of the staple colours in a solid fabric with the textured more colourful look of this one. Just remember that this looks like it will be a ton of work and you dont want to stress yourself out too much.
Also, would he want attention drawn to him being deaf? I feel like this can be an awesome idea or a bad idea depending on his personality.

Oh I definitely think you should do it!! I think it will look fantastic and it will be so much more meaningful then any other kind of flowers!
