I have seen a few pictures over the years of friends in bed with their SO. It’s obvious that sex took place. A Facebook friend changed her profile pic over the weekend and it’s one of her and her boyfriend in bed. In my opinion it’s just awkward. I would feel weird about family members and anyone else seeing that part of my life.
Are such postings becoming more and more common? Do you think it’s necessarily a bad thing?

Kacey23: How old are your friends? that seems pretty juvenile… the only fb-profiles i’ve ever come across those photos (which I think should really not be put out on the internet) were teens / people in their early twenties. I really can’t fathom what makes people want to put a photo up like that… People, keep your sex lives to yourself, please.

I think it’s ridiculous! I have never seen anyone do that on my fb, but seriously, it’s crude to put that kind of material in a public place. Facebook is not just about friends and family anymore; it’s about clients, employers, creepers, or any other people whom you don’t want seeing your stuff, well, seeing your stuff!
There are so many stories of people getting fired or not hired based on pictures they have on Facebook. If that’s her PROFILE PICTURE, she really needs to think about who her audience is now, and who it could be in the future.
As I tell my students: Nothing disappears on the internet. Everything will eventually come back around so post with caution.

Kacey23: I think that’s a little weird, but I’m FB friends with my mom and my husband’s mom and some of their friends, so maybe that’s why I wouldn’t feel comfortable with it. I’d probably die of embarassment if one of them were to make a comment on a pic like that lol.

It probably is becoming more common what with all of the different photo sharing sites there are.
I do think it’s a bad thing. The boundaries between private information and public information are getting smaller and smaller, and I don’t see that as good. There has to be a balance, and posting after-sex photos for your friends, family, and even strangers to see is certainly not within that balance. This isn’t something that deeply offends me or that I get too riled up over, but I don’t like it and I won’t tolerate it.
Now, I’ve never seen this, to my knowledge, but if I did I would probably just unfriend the person and be done with them. I don’t want to be friends with someone who thinks doing that is fun, cute, or acceptable. I don’t want to be friends with someone who is even comfortable sharing stuff like that with family, friends, and strangers.

LOL Haven’t seen that yet. Personally I would find that nasty. Way TMI.

Ew…I’m in my early 20s and I haven’t seen that at all. Just gross…
I feel like I’ll regret asking, but what do you mean it’s obvious sex took place? Messy hair? Half-clothed?

It’s definitely weird to say the least! They are in their early twenties. I find it interesting that in my experiene it’s the girls who post these pics and not the guys.

Kacey23: probably cus their skin is all glowy, their eyes bright, and their hair is fashionably ruffled. Unless the activity was streneous enough to make them sweat a whole lot, everyone looks great after a good romp :3
Whether it’s a good idea to post that publicly on Facebook is something else….

I remember it being a meme a while ago, luckily I didn’t see too many myself!

Gross!! Never seen one, must have the right friends, lol.

It’s nasty, in my opinion. I have a friend from high school who’s not much of a friend anymore that decided to post a photo of her boyfriend and she making out, in bed, with his hand groping her boob. Seriously disgusting. Also, who takes a photo in the middle of that activity?!

Uhg, my ex had one of those with his gf. So tacky.

ren89: ew, I would have said something to her, haha.

Huh… never seen one of those. Sounds pretty gross to me!
