I did that a few months ago... had dinner with a girl I was friends with in elementary school and my best friend from the 7th grade, neither of whom I'd seen since high school graduation over 10 years ago. It was fun. They were both married (though one is now divorcing) and one of them has two kids already. I know we're all old enough now for that sort of thing, but it was *weird*. :)
My high school friends and I got together because we all caught up on facebook back in February and in March. Facebook is a great way to get re-connected to old friends.
I haven't ventured into facebook yet...but I'm still occasionally on my myspace page. Does anyone do myspace anymore or am I outdated now?!?!
I realized that posting "It's been so long! We should get together!" on someone's wall is the most frequent empty promise ever made. And I did actually want to see her. So when she said "let's get together" I just wrote back, "ok, how about next week?" I think I am going to start doing that more often if I really do want to see someone.
When I was little the 2 girls next door & I were inseparable. Our parents called us the 3 stooges. They moved when I was 11 & we all moved on. One of them found me on FB a couple years ago & it was awesome. Both sisters, their SO's, their brother and parents are all coming to my wedding!
More important - FI and I dated back in 01 & broke up in 03. He typed my name into myspace in '06 & the rest was history! :)
Yep, me too. I lost touch with one of my best friends from high school shortly after graduation, and after facebook we ended up talking again. Now it's almost like we were never apart!
FI moved up here from Key West and has reconnected with a ton of his friends from down there.
I'm finding everyone and their mom on fb- literally! I'm going to cringe if my parents sign up for it. However, I'm enjoying reconnecting with old elementary/middle school friends. I deleted my myspace and friendster accts earlier tihs year, I wonder how much longer fb will last until the next big thing.
