It’s only a matter of time before youtube, twitter and facebook merge to form a super time-wasting website called "YOU TWIT FACE."

Not my own words – this came from Twitter. I like/dislike Facebook – good for keeping in touch with old friends, but it can suck up time if you’re looking for an excuse to procrastinate.

I’ve been on FB for a few years, for me it was originally to stay in touch with my cousin in Europe, but now I feel the same as you. I have an ex from college…nice guy…I didn’t want to be rude….wayyyy to many ex-coworkers…but I didn’t want to burn bridges.
But I still get to keep in almost instant touch with my cousins, one of my BFF’s found our other BFF from our lil "clique" in high school….sooooo awesome, we’d been trying to find her for years. We both actually cried one night on the phone after finding her.

So yeah, it’s a love/hate relationship. I feel like I would never post pics of my kids (when I become a mom), but then I was SOOOOO happy to see my cousin’s new baby the other day. It’s such a Catch-22.

I love how I can keep in touch with family and friends. I have to say, though, it is quite easy to get sucked into for hours at a time, lol!

I use it mainly for staying in contact with long distance friends and family members. BUT I have seen it interfere with people’s relationship… My FI even had a dream 3 days in a row that I was doing something naughty on FB so he had to ask me about because he never remembers his dreams and these were so vivid. Thank God he is wrong!

After graduating from college, it was so nice to have facebook to be able to "talk" to some people since no one has enough time to call everyone on the phone. We’re planning a reuinion/retirement party via facebook, and it’s great because everyone can post their ideas on the group wall, we can get feedback, etc.

HOWEVER – I have contemplated having FI block Facebook about 2 weeks before the wedding so it will be one less thing to distract me!

I like facebook. I have a lot of the security set up pretty tightly so that people I knew but don’t have any interest in keeping up with or broadcasting my life to see a very limited profile.

Personally, I don’t do Facebook, but I think I’m the only person I know who doesn’t. I just don’t have any real desire to do it. Between work, school (and until recently wedding planning), I simply didn’t have the time for something else!

I just don’t let people see my profile that I don’t want, lol. If I accidentally add someone (like your evil FB friend!) I remove them from my friend list later. They don’t realize it until they go to look at their page. DEFRIENDED! LoL. I like stalking people pictures although I don’t use it near as much as I did in college.

I am considering dropping both my Facebook and MySpace pages. I just don’t use them that often and all these random people try to friend me. I don’t want to hurt their feelings, so I end up just never approving or denying their request. I think over 20 requests sitting in my Facebook account right now, and maybe 15 in my MySpace! Ugh!

I didn’t do facebook while I was in school but after graduation it was the best way to keep in touch with people and that is essentially why I’m still on there. I do find it annoying that people who I b arely spoke to in highschool and prior friend request me with no purpose.

I even had a severe facebook stalker story (no joke!). A kid who I went to school with 15 years ago (5th grade), kept friend requesting me, at first I said no but then he kept requesting… so annoying but I was finally like whatever and added him. I then did a friend clean out a few months later and removed him. The NEXT DAY he friend requested me again (Friends don’t know when they’ve been removed btw). Then when FI and I got engaged he wrote on my wall before I even posted anything on facebook (before I even changed my relationship status or anything). He specificaly wrote congrats on the engagement I know you’ll be happy together. I didn’t tell many people at that point and others who had wrote on my wall was congrats we are happy for you (this could be about anything). THEN his GIRLFRIEND wrote on my wall inviting me to a birthday party for him and telling me she could put me up in a hotel for $35 a night. CREEPY! I have not seen or spoken to him since he moved 15 years ago! I told her that I don’t know him and think it would be really awkward so no, thanks. Then I showed the crazy eyes picture to my family and blocked those nut-bags from any contact. So weird. I was glad I moved across the country a week after that, I was so scared I’d see them hanging outside my window lol

FB has been great for me in terms of reconnecting with friends from high chool I’d lost touch with, but with that comes the annoying people who find you and friend you. There is this annoying girl I work with who friended me and basically stalks peoples lives on facebook and is on it at work and stuff and comments on everything and I WISH i could defriend but like I work with her and see her every day and that would be awkward.

I love it for sharing photos and looking at other peoples pics and stuff, but it can be super annoying sometimes. Still, overall – worth it for me.

OMG BubblyBride! That is HILARIOUS! 😀

I get sucked in, but now I’m pretty bored with it…
