okay, this is kind of random...

i've had a really bad headache since last night--i think it's either a sinus or tension headache, with the pain being focused mostly behind my eyes and at the base of my head and neck. taking sinus headache meds has been helping a bit, but i can still sort of feel like it's there. i've been stepping up my gym visits/weight lifting lately, so it makes sense that my back/shoulder muscles may be tense...also, i'm out of my allergy nasal spray, so my sinuses could be rebelling, though i don't feel particularly congested...

so here's the question. i have a gift certificate to a spa right by work for a 25 minute facial. would that help my headache feel better since it would relax my muscles? or is that just wasting my gift certificate since i might still feel like crap? i don't get pampered very often...

That sounds like a tension headache.  Tension headaches are behind the eyes and at the base of the head and neck.  Sinus headaches are in your cheeks are above your eyes.  I don't tihnk that a facial would help with a tension headache but a massage focused on your upper back and neck would help the tension.

i've had migraines my whole life, and i've never had a facial so i don't know if that would work, and nobody has ever suggested that to me. but i do agree with missasb, maybe a massage, or accupuncture might help.

thanks for the advice!! i'd prefer a neck and back massage--i've only had a facial once and it was a little strange in my opinion--but the gift certificate is specifically for a facial, and i feel like it's too indulgent to buy myself a massage...maybe i'll see if they'd let me switch the gift certificate....
