Play nice. Ignore her unless she’s right in front of you, then be stupid sweet until she walks off. Don’t talk about her to other guests. Good luck.

I completely understand. I’m not a confrontational person either. I can tell you what I would do. Go to the shower and make sure to focus completey on the bride. If the ex tries to stir up drama, I would excuse myself.

I would probably say, “Well, this is such a great party. Why don’t I let you young girls have some of your own fun. Thanks for letting me spend some time with you and I’ll see you all soon.” Nod to the rest of the room and throw out a “Nice to meet all of you” and then walk calmly to your car. Then freak out and cry. Yell

I wish I was joking. Like I said, I understand completely what you mean and this is exactly what I would do.

Ekk!  That sounds like it could be a difficult situation.  Just treat her like any other guest and no matter what she does, be courteous.  If she does anything mean and snarky, let her be the one that looks bad.  If she gives you a big “Congrats”, no matter her tone, just smile and say Thank You.  I’m sure it’d boil her blood even more if she were trying to set you off, and did not succeed.

@futuremrshc: Exactly! That’s kinda what I meant but you said it with WAY less words. Smile

Keep your head up high and I like what another person said — if you need a break, excuse yourself for a few minutes. Don’t let anything she says get to you.

Chin up!
