Well i'm having mine at westwoods in west haven it's not on the water but from my understanding it's within 10 min. away. It's reasonably priced. Also somone mentioned testos in bridgeport being reasonable and pretty on the inside. good luck
We are having ours at the Stamford Hilton. Like you I grew up in Fairfield County, but a lot of our guests are not (FI is from NW Pennsylvania) so we wanted something close to the airports. Plus we fell in love with the semi-permanent tent the Hilton has on site, and the prices were the best we found in the area.
When we were first looking at locations, we looked at Lord Thompson Manor in Thompson, CT. It was a beautiful place, but ended up being too far for us to make frequent trips from NYC. http://www.lordthompsonmanor.com/
I'm getting married at the Maritime Aquarium in South Norwalk. I also looked at the Burr Mansion in Fairfield. It was nice but not for me. My other favorite place in that area was the Stamford Museum and Nature center. That place was great but lots of work involved.

Hey CT ladies--I am just starting out in the planning process and I'm feeling a little lost. Me and my FH grew up in Fairfield County (I still live here) and we would love to have a wedding close to home but we have no clue where to start. We're looking for something that's within an hour of Stamford/Norwalk area and on the water. Anything really, except for the Inn at Longshore---that's where my sister got married.
So, CT brides, anyone getting married in Fairfield County?? I would love to hear about it!
