I  have always loved fireflies and dreamed of somehow creating the look of fireflies at my wedding.  Today I stumbled upon these:

Fairy Berries? Heard of or used them? : wedding Fairy Berries

and here is a video of what they do:

So my question is:  has anyone ever used these/seen these before?  I wonder how they look in person and if they are too large to place around and give the effect of fireflies.

I have heard of them... but kind of in the same boat as you. I have never seen them in person. I am considering them but it'd like to see them in the dark in person as well! I'll def. post if I decide to order some though!

My mom and I found these on save-on-crafts.com. We fell in love and really want to place them around the garden I am having my reception to look like fireflies. They are pretty expensive though, for as few as you get! But I am just like all of you, I have never seen them in real life, but that is a risk I am willing to take, they seem awesome.

Couldn't you just use Christmas lights?

@woodwindwaker: what I like about these is that they ebb and flow in brightness to stimulate fireflies and you can scatter them around a lot moer than christmas tree lights would be able to!

Yes, lets. :) And they are wayyy more flexible than Christmas lights. I love the idea of scattering little orbs everywhere instead of being limited to plugging into an outlet. (there aren't many in my reception place)

They are cool! Not sure about the price of them elsewhere but they are on sale on Think Geek's website right now:

I've been wondering about these too. Our reception is around a pool and I've been thinking of lights for it ( but I bet the filter would make them all cluster together!)

I like the idea of putting them in the hedges too, but who gets to pick them all up later? :)

Do you have to collec them later? IF not, do they biodegrade or something? Otherwise I feel like it's just like littering..
