This is quite possibly one of the best engagement stories I have EVER read! So romantic, sweet, non-cheezy... I love when they're just right! And a photographer to capture the moment! You're a lucky lady! Good luck and congrats!
Oh my gosh! That is so sweet, I started tearing up :) I hope my boyfriend comes up with something this romantic. Congrats!!!

UHHHHMAZING. Definitely something out of a romance movie that makes you swoon =]
Yay! Sounds like an amazing engagement. Our engagement was also a fairy tale engagement story, and it also involved the Brooklyn Bridge. (He popped the question in a park underneath the bridge on the Brooklyn side looking back across the water at a beautiful view of Manhattan.) :-)
@skibobrown- That is so romantic too! I love the Manhattan skyline... but I don't really know anyone who doesn't! Are you from the city too? Where did you have/will have your wedding?
That is AMAZING!!! I am honestly not usually one for romance but it has me hoping for my own unique engagement..... thanks for sharing

I recently got engaged... and it is such a sweet engagment that I had to share it!
One person is compatible with so many people, but only one is their soul mate...
Ryan and I had a date night last night. He took me to this restaurant where we had our first date: Jack the Horse Tavern in Brooklyn Heights. We drank the same wine that we had shared about a year and eight months ago. Food was great, and my mom was there in Spirit and in a painting... for real... there was this painting that looked exactly like her there. That was very special to me (later) because I had no idea what was about to happen in the next 30 min. Ryan was kinda jittery and couldn't finish his glass of wine... and now I know why :) So, then we decided to walk over the Brooklyn bridge, which was something that neither one of us had done. I then proceeded to tell him the reason why I love the Brooklyn Bridge: "I love the Brooklyn Bridge for no rhyme or reason, I have no connection with it... but I love it, it's magical. It's kinda like you. I met you with no connection to you, but I fell in love with you." We continued walking and there was this guy on the bridge playing the guitar. Ryan threw a dollar into his guitar case and he began to play OUR song (falling in love at a coffee shop). I was surprised and shocked and Ryan asked me, "Do you know why I love the Brooklyn Bridge? Because this is where I proposed to my wife." And then he knelt down, pulled out this GIANT rock and asked me to marry him! The guitar player, who was co-worker, continued playing and all the tourists started clapping and there was a photographer. Ryan's family (mom, paul, bob, chris) and my nana came walking up the bridge to greet us. And then we CELEBRATED!!!!
