Are you talking about real or fake flowers or real or fake lights. I think you mean flowers since you did say that you are using both battery tea lights and votives. Well I would say that you should never use fake flowers if the stems are going to show because the stems are the part that looks really fake. The stems usually do in submerged flower arrangements. But I have seen a submerged flower arrangement on one of my posts on WB that looked very really because she only used parts of the fake flowers that didn't include the stems.

Working on our centerpieces and head table decor...Using ferns, green and white orchids, and calla lillies. Some are going to be submerged in the vases, some glued or wired onto branches above the vases, and some scattered across the tables mixed in with the moss. So I'm wondering what would looks?
We are also using both the battery operated tealights and votives as well as real burning candles (I'm scared of lighting our venue on fire lol).
