I am getting married on October 24th and need some assistance with reception food!  It will be around 4 or 4:30 so I may serve dinner or heavy hordeaurves.  Some ideas would be fantastic!

So far I have these ideas:

prime rib with au jus and horseradish

sweet potato biscuits or baked sweet potato chips

    asparagus/squash veggies

roasted chicken iwth rosemary and garlic

sliced roast beef with horseradish dip served on crossiants or bread of some sort

For a vegetarian dish you could do butternut squash ravioli.  I think you are off to a great start though!  Maybe also add some hot cidar to the cocktail hour or coffee time??

That sounds so yummy!  We are also getting married in October and having a "Harvest Salad."  It has greens, apples, pecans, blue cheese, and a maple viniagrette.  We're also doing caramel apples as a favor :-)

@cynthias225 - that salad sounds delicious!

We're featuring cranberries with our entrée, and squash will be one of the four veggies on the plate. That's as "fall" as we're getting.

Your menu sounds yummy to me, I would pick "all of the above", but one thing I LOVE in the Fall is pumpkin soup! I do NOT like pumpkin pie,
I don't know how to carve a pumpkin, but ohmigosh, I love me some pumpkin soup.
I would totally do the sweet potato biscuits, and I heart asparagus.
And yup! butternut squash ravioli is .....ooohhh....making my mouth water right now! And, no, I'm not a vegatarian, but those two foods could totally suffice for me.

have a great dessert display too... think hearty... pecan pie, pumpkin pie, apple pie, all of these can be tarts too... take homes if anything...

I second the soup (pumpkin, peanut, butternut squash all remind me of fall,) and a dessert selection.

Anything involving apples or pumpkins reminds me of fall - applesauce, apple tarts, apple bread, apple muffins, etc.

A hot cocoa and/or hot cider bar could be a fab addition! Mmmm....

As far as main courses - anything associated with Thanksgiving tends to say 'fall' to me - mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole, etc.

    Mountain trout with herbs

    Mushroom and goat cheese ravioli

    Mini caramel apples

Deviled eggs with capers and salmon

LOVE the sweet potato biscuit idea!

Fall menu's are really fun-- you can get away with heavier & heartier dishes than you can in the summer!

Butternut squash and potato soups are always yummy... :)

Mmm one thing that always reminds me of fall cuisine is stuffing (or dressing depending where you're from!) You could have a yummy stuffing with cranberries & apples!

    Your menu sounds great though!
