I'm having the same color scheme for an October 10th Wedding. i'm doing 1 cylinder vase on each table...the vases on the tables will vary in height. They will be filled with water with a floating Ivory canding. there will be approx 3 roses of varying heights submerged in each vase. The roses will be of fall colors...deep red, orange/brown. I will used natural brown colored rocks. The entire vase will be on a mirror and have smaller candles around it. I'm also putting the fall-colored rose petals on the table. It's not super original, but I' loved the way it looked. I'm in love with candles!
Michaels is selling those silk leaves at 99 cents per pack and I think you get about 17 per pack!
If I had come across the wedding centerpiece before setting my date/colors, I SO would have gone with this. It is perfectly simple and chic. Add the no sew burlap runners, and cream colored candles, and you have a super budget friendly table, without the budget look.
Paired with caramel apple favors at each setting, and you have a fall look, without getting too "themey."
Another variation to the wheat centerpiece. Thought this one was cute too!
.....WOW why didn't I see those wheat centerpieces a month ago!? Before I bought everything to make frosted vases for candle centerpieces!?
I'm in love... they totally don't fit for us though. Hope they work out for you!
Hey we're getting married the same day! I am using the same colors. I'm using Mason jars for my centerpieces. I'm tying twine around the top and filling them with flowers I bought at Michaels. Here is a rough idea of what I'm doing. I'm placing the mason jar on a wood slab with some moss and rocks. I'll also put a few candles on the table. I recently saw some silk fall leaves that were so pretty! I wish I saw them before buying all these flowers! If I saw them first, I'd buy some burch strips (i've seen them on ebay) and wrap that around a can and stuff beautiful hall leaves inside. Hmmm...now that I'm talking about it, maybe I'll go that route! LOL. Also Joanne fabrics has a lot of fall stuff right now, maybe look there =)
@Mamasita2004- I love the wheat centerpieces.. Can i ask?....where did u find the wheat? Did you buy it in bulk and was it costly?
@PrincssDva- I love your centerpiece idea...looks very elegant AND goes with our theme extremely well. Thanks for the idea! I will let you know how things turn out if i go that direction! Beautiful!
@ankdance21- What a great idea! I wanted to do the wooden cylinders also but couldn't find them any cheaper than $14.29 a piece and at 30 tables that added up wayyyy to fast! If i can get someone to do them for me at a lesser cost i am still considering that route. I also like your simple cylinder vase idea with the roses. WE are using roses also (dark red, orange, yellow with chocolate cosmopolitans) for our flowers/bouquet and i think this would be a great way to tie the idea together! And.. did you know you can get the cylinder vases at dollartree.com... $1 a piece and they are your standard vase but very inexpensive.. Just a thought for you!
@Leahb98 - congrats on the upcoming nuptials! I hope you are as excited as we are ... and im sure you have already counted but we are down to 73 days! =) I love the centerpiece idea w/ the mason jars.. I found mason jars at Michaels for $2.99 for 1/2 gallson jars and wanted to incorporate them so badly but couldn't come up with anything... i love the twine wrapped around the top! So cute.. I think they are beautiful!
I will keep all of you posted on what i decide.. it's kind of fun to share these ideas with other fall brides! Thanks so much for all the great ideas everyone!
I am having pumpkins and candles. Probably 3 different sized pumpkins with some vine and 4 votives. Very colorful, simple and since my aunt is growing them for me, very cost effective!
@madyzmom: I didn't make the centerpieces, but I have seen them all over the internet. I know I have seen the wheat in places like JoAnn's, but I also found sites online like this one:
I found some simple pumpkin and fall inspired centerpieces as well.
This could be done to go with your colors as well. Maybe you could just replaces the flowers with your colors, or put something else in there like little pumpkins. You could even go more budget friendly, and line a few of the mason jars up, fill them up with coffee beans, place candles inside, and wrap orange ribbon around the jars...maybe different prints of the same colors?
i'm not posting this as an ad by any means...but here shortly, I will be putting mine up in the classifieds. our colors were orange and brown and a friend of mine from work put all of our flowers together for us! (silk)
the paper lantern around the vase, I made from cardstock and printed off the sides on my printer. The sides include 1 - the table # / 2 - a "thank you poem" / 3 - The buffet's menu / 4 - the timeline and rundown of the bridal party

@madyzmom: Yes, I did see the cylinder vases at Dollartree, but we wanted something taller and more dramatic. So I just watched for sales and coupons from Michaels and AC Moore. I only shopped when I have a good deal. I saved a ton of money this way! Although, I had time to wait for the sales.
Mason jar with wheat would be gorg! and cheap!
Get wheat now before they cut it
These are mine.....
Fall is such a beautiful time..the options are endless
Ms. Judder where did you find those lanterns and were they terribly expensive. They are really pretty
I've been making ribbon topiaries for our tables, two per table (one small and one large) with ribbon in our colors: pomegrante, chocolate brown, moss green and champagne gold. I also found really cute bronze leaf tea candle holders at Michaels on clearance last year. The topiaries look like this, but in our colors:
I found all my ribbon on sale. The only thing is that it is a bit time consuming, but I do them while I watch tv or during a long road trip :)
yikes! sorry that's so big--tried to resize it but couldnt figure out how!!! :(
@Mamasita2004: great idea! i LOVE the color pink and have an even greater love for coffee =D
I'm getting married OCtober 30th and just made my first mock up of my fall centerpieces. They are pumpkins filled with mums and roses. The whole thing only cost my 15 dollars for the large pumpkin, two white mini pumpkin, mums, and roses.
click the link for pictures.
Hope it helps =)
@ I lovemyhotdogdog- those are gorgeous!! Have heard of using pumpkins but never imagines what beauty it could be.
@VegasBaby: those topiaries are amazing, is there a tutorial or something you followed? how did you make them?
this site has great ideas, you can just customize your colors...
@PrncssDva: We did those centerpieces for my parents recent party and they looked STUNNING! :) Beautiful!
@Ilovemyhotdogdog- Beautiful! I may do something like that also! It looks beautiful, and mums are pretty cheap where I live in the fall :)
I am also getting married in Oct. and we are doing a lot with pumpkins. I plan on using some small pumpkins for votive holders, and I am also going to try gutting medium size pumkins, filling them with water, and putting in floating candles...I also found some great brownish metal planters at Dollar Tree that I am going to use and they were only $1 each! Love all the great idea posted!
