This is what ours is going to look like. The colors fit our colors perfectly, even the stag fits out theme--our location is a ranch and the mister is big on hunting and fishing, and it was simple...just what we wanted. This cake is done in fondant, but I don't like fondant, so it's being made in buttercream with some fondant touches.

we're not getting married till next fall but when we got engaged in Feb i fell in love with this cake... our colors are chocolate brown and deep red. I don't want fondant (sp?) either so we're trying a buttercream frosting!

lol im such a loser, i just got so excited seeing it all big on wedding bee!
We are doing something like this, except i'm not sure about the design around the cake because we are having whip cream icing, not buttercream or fondent. So there it is! Also this pic is from the knot so I am not sure how to credit but that's where you can find it
We're going chocolate! 
I'm excited about that.

this isn't exactly what it'll look like but it's an inspiration photo. my actual cake will have fresh orange and yellow gerber daisies on top instead. the ribbons will be alternating orange and yellow.

oh i really like the simplicity of it! so pretty and classic!
Mine is completely covered in different sized sugar roses that are all shades of white.
My flavors are kind of fall ...
Almond cake with Apricot filling and Vanilla Filling
Chocolate cake with Raspberry filling and chocolate mousse filling
Carrot Cake with Grand Marnier wash and grand marnier filling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is our inspiration cake - chocolate with fruit on top, not necessarily strawberries, My aunt makes wedding cakes, so she is doing it as a gift to us! Mmmmm chocolate...

Girls I love all of ya'lls cakes I am so hungry for cake now!!! Somehow I want to incorporate pumpkins in the cake. Countrycowgirl I like how your cake has pumpkins on it!

thats our cake with the bride of frankenstein and frankenstein cake topper though.
Mine is going to be square three tiered buttercream (ivory) with chocolate swirls/light damask. Orange callalillies on top.
I just found out yesterday that we need to have flowers on top of our cake to blend the frosting and the cake topper (it's vintage so it isn't stark white and might clash against the frosting). I can't decide what to use so this is great inspiration!
Well it was an August wedding but my colors were more fall...
I added a third layer to the wedding cake.
And this is the groom cake.

We haven't done our tasting yet, so I don't know about flavors, but I will let you know. We are for sure using buttercream - no fondant. Our cake vendor does really beautiful work and comes as part of the package for our venue, but she is RUDE. We decided we'll go with only what's included in the package for her - no upgrades for you!

None of these cakes are buttercream, but they could totally be done in bc w/ fondant accents. The "cherry blossom" cake could be changed around to have orange flowers instead of pink!
I just love brown ribbon/bands on a crisp white cake! It's so simple & gorgeous...

My wedding was September 19th. Here is our cake! 2 layers of strawberry shortcake and 1 layer of chocolate with canoli cream!!

Those cakes are beautiful!! I love the detail and all the fall leaves! Makes me want a fall wedding (it was the 2nd choice)!

Fall gals are you having a fall wedding cake theme? I am trying to decide and trying to find a cake for my October wedding. My colors are chocolate, rust orange, gold so I am looking for a cake to incorporate these colors but cannot find one I really like. Also we are having a buttercream cake so it makes it a little harder to find a cake that I like. Show me your cake!
