@aithinne:  How much of a fall theme wedding do you want to do? Like just a color scheme or the whole shebang of leaves, pumpkins, etc.?

I think that it’s a little unconventional but it’s your wedding and you can do what you want!

Personally, depending on how old you are and how quickly you want to TTC and whether  or not you two live together, I’d probably just wait until Nov 2015. I had a pretty long engagement and I really enjoyed it. It’s fun to be planning a wedding and engaged. However, we weren’t going to start TTC until at least next year anyway, so it wasn’t that much of a wait for me, and we already live together, so there wasn’t anything we were missing out on – we weren’t rushing to the alter other than because we want to call each other husband and wife. So, that’s just my advice. You’ll also have more money saved since he’ll have been working for longer and you’ll be able to do more stuff for the wedding or go on a better honeymoon with that money. Just some ideas.

@aithinne:  I think navy and orange are great colors for any season! It doesn’t sound like you’re going to go over the top with the fall theme so it would definitely work. Heck, I’m sure there’s plenty of brides who have done a “Christmas in July” theme, so I don’t see why you can’t you do fall in spring 🙂

@aithinne:  If it’s just colors you are looking at, you can certainly use navy and orange anytime during the year.

If you’re not going to live together until after you’re married, I definitely understand wanting to get married sooner rather than later!

I’d probably fight for November ’14… But I think you could definitely have a late winter/early spring wedding with that palette!

I am attending a Memorial Day weekend wedding in Texas next year and their colors are navy and orange – it will be gorgeous!  I think those colors are pretty seasonless – especially in the South where we really don’t have seasons.

@aithinne:  If you’re just wanting the rich, darker, more fall themed colors then I think it could work. Especially with orange & navy…those could kind of go for any season. If you wanted pumpkins and leaves and things it might be a little..unconventional? But if it makes you happy, it’s YOUR wedding!! 🙂

@aithinne:  Ah yes, if you’re waiting til marriage to move in together, I also understand the desire to marry and not wait. I think the fact that the colors are the same colors as his family kilt won’t make it so “out of place” despite the season. If you’re not planning to do anything else fall, I think that’s fine. It’s just colors, not really a theme (not like you’re doing pumpkin and leaves and smores and stuff).

I have never thought it’s weird to have a different season’s theme.

I’m having spring colours in summer time. Shrug — I doubt guests would notice much. 🙂 Have fun planning with your new date!!
