That dress is gorgeous. Sorry it doesn’t come in your size. As uuyou already want it altered I suggest you keep looking for a dress that is the length you want it as it will be very expensive to add more material and lengthen a very detailed dress. Try Mori lee or Bonny bridal both have plus size collections that are very flattering.

@littlewitch:  I’m about the same dress size as you, but it just all depends on your body.  How tall are you?  Are you long in the torso, or shorter?  What’s the shape of your body etc.  I’m 5’11 and long.  I’m okay in a ballgown, but for me the skirt needs to not have a lot of detailing at the hips because my hips are wide.

@littlewitch:   Maybe you can try it on!!  My dress is a Martina Liana so I’m a bit familar with those brands.    Best of luck in your search – and I hope you can post photos!!  I’ll bet you will look awesome in a ballgown.  🙂

@littlewitch:  Look at Pronovias!!!  I’m a plus sized girl (Size 20 street clothes)…and found a gorgeous ballgown with a royal length train and had no problems with sizing!  They have actually really stunning dresses that go up to about a street 26.

@littlewitch:  what about something like this? I think their sizes go up to 28 (if you believe the chart).

One thing to remember about the train… when you look at pictures remember that those girls are TALL, so a chapel train on the model will be much longer on you! I’m 5’4″ so my train is almost a foot longer than the typical “chapel length” because I’m shorter.

It depends how much you want to spend.  But, I would take a look at Davids Bridal on line store.  Also, give a call to Kleinfelds, they have an awful lot of stuff in store.  You can also give them the dress product number if you have it and they will check if they have it i stock.  And the workers there can also check it anything else is simular.  It so helps to talk to people that know things like this in store.

With a ballgown they don’t even take your hips in to consideration when measuring you. I am a pear/hour glass shape with a tiny waist and much larger hips and I was able to try on (and fit in to) dresses in a size that were much smaller than my hips. Hope that helps

If it’s THAT dress you fell in love with, have you considered having a replica custom-made? Then you wouldn’t have to face those problems with your size. Jasmine’s Bridal and Dressilyme seem to be the preferred China manufacturers on the bee (I’ve ordered a lace dress with Dressilyme and was very satisfied).
