I fell down in my kitchen an hour ago, I slipped and my legs gave out and next I know, I am on my back. I do not feel any soreness in my body and I also do not have any cramping or bleeding (yet). I am 13 weeks along and it is too late at night to call the doctor. Urgent care said I would have to go to the ER if I am worried. I figured I will call my doctor first thing in the morning, but I am on the verge of being hysterical right now. Has anyone fallen while in the early part of their pregnancy? I know rationally the baby is probably fine but I am just so upset.

I am so sorry that I can’t help you more than just saying a prayer. I hope that everything is okay with you and baby.

soyjoy222: I fell at about 16 weeks with Dirty Delete #1, I was so scared. I called my Dr who told me to just take it easy and come in right away if there was any bleeding or cramping. Everything was fine.
I fell at 7 weeks down the stairs with DD#2, again everything was fine (well, my back was bruised buy baby was OK.)
Just relax, don’t panic baby is pretty well protected at this stage of pregnancy.

Baby is well protected inside you, lots of cushioning in there. If you fell on your back, more than likely baby is fine. If you see any spotting get checked out, but otherwise you should be ok. Hope you aren’t too sore!

I fell down the stairs on Wednesday at 11w 2d and had to go to the ER. Everything was fine, I had another US yesterday which showed a healthy happy baby!

The baby is well protected by your body. I know someone who had a bad fall on ice while pregnant, and the result is a happy, healthy 5 year old today 🙂

soyjoy222: I fell on my belly at 24 weeks. We ended up being monitored for 6 hours in the ER. Everything was fine. As PP said your belly is well protected.

I fell down the stairs at 4.5 weeks, really hurt myself, but everything was fine, seen baby twice and I’m 10.5 weeks now.

If you’re worried, go to the ER. There’s nothing wrong with being 100% sure that everything is ok.

soyjoy222: I fell down the stairs around 10 weeks on my back/butt and then slipped on ice in my last trimester and was just fine! Baby is well protected in there right now especially. My sister fell belly first in her third trimester and was fine, too! don’t stress!
