And b/c our other one got closed right as I responded, here is my post!

@Audreysdance: Think calming thoughts! Hopefully your BP is low and fluid levels look good so they don't have to induce...but remember that if they do, it's ok! I keep thinking of you and sending lots of labor dust!

    @WinterWhite2012: I totally agree!

@carriejuly:  I have to laugh, b/c my irrational husband hasn't touched me in months b/c of how worried he was that we were going to lose this baby if we did anything. Now that I'm full term, I don't think anything is changing!

@Jenn23:  Holy Braxton Hicks last night! I went for my NST after I visited with my SIL, and I was having a contraction pretty much every 5 minutes while hooked up to the monitors. His heartrate was great through all of them, but I knew I was hooked up way too long for them not to be worried. I was on for a good hour and the nurse finally came back in to tell me I was ok to go. She had called the doctor b/c of how many contractions I was having and was waiting for him to call back. He was totally fine with it, so I just got to see his heartrate for a little longer last night, that's all!

@lotam240:  Thanks for checking in! Hope you're doing well too!

Other than the crazy contractions last night, everything is going well here. My poor SIL is either in pain, or she's getting sick from the pain medication they're giving her. They're going to try to put a stent in today to help her pass the larger stone, but I can't even imagine the amount of pain she must be in from this! Hopefully things start to look up for her!

I'm 37 weeks officially today! So full term! I honestly can't believe we've made it this far! Only 3 more weeks until my EDD. I have my weekly tomorrow where I'll get the results of my Strep B test. I'll also ask about if they'll let me go past my due date or not. We'll see!

@2PeasinaPod:  thanks love! Congrats on full term and all the BH! perhaps you will go a bit early!!!

I can't believe i made it to the next thread. Never thought i would. oh well. I want my baby. I feel like he is gonna be the size of a truck driver when i finally get to birth him.

I think this needs to be moved to Pregnancy section.

@Audreysdance:  Thinking of you today. When do you go in and see the doctor? How are you feeling today? How are the cramps? Any new signs of labor? Hang in there!!

@2PeasinaPod:  Did they say last night what that means to have so many BH? I'm glad everything is fine and congrats on full term. YAY!!!!

@Audreysdance:  Woops! Thanks! I totally don't even know which category I put this in! And, my grandmother always said that 2s and 8s were lucky! So thread #8 is your thread!

@Jenn23:  They said it's normal! And as long as I'm not cramping, they aren't "real" labor contractions. They also said that since I'm so small, the NST picks up every little thing on me, so it's picking up every itty bitty contraction I'm having.

On another note, my friend who is due 10 days before me just went to the hospital from her doctor's appointment b/c her BP was high. They're going to monitor her and possibly induce tonight! She's freaking out! I told her she was due in 10 days anyway, that she's just a little early :o)

    @2PeasinaPod:  Yay, full term!

    @Audreysdance:  Good luck today!

Last night we did the hospital tour, so now I feel like we've done everything to prepare.  It was good for DH too to see the room and setup and all of that.  The baby seriously had a dance party in the middle of the night last night.  Moves I have never felt so pronounced before, it was crazy and went on for at least 10 minutes.  I woke up this morning only to noticed that I dropped a ton.  I guess she was moving herself down?

@2PeasinaPod:  That's good to know they weren't "real" contractions. Yay! Wow, your friend may be having her baby tonight! Wow! Hope everything goes well for her and the little one.

@hopefulmama:  What did you think of Paoli Maternity? I love it. The rooms are huge and private and I love the little kitchen area where you can go anytime and get juice, snacks, etc. My baby had a dance party during the early morning hours while I was trying to sleep, too! He keeps me up a lot now at night. But I still love it. :)

@Jenn23:  I love it there, so nice.  The room they showed us was huge, yes, however I have visited 3 people there in the last few months and the rooms were about half the size :)  But I do love that they are private!

@hopefulmama:  Oh, so the room they show us isn't necessarily what we'll get? haha That's interesting. Well, maybe we'll luck out and get a big room. :) I've heard the maternity nurses there are fantastic! :)

@Jenn23:  No, I think they show us the mega suite lol.  Maybe if I scream really loud when I first get there I can ask for that one ;)  Yes, I have heard the same things.  Not that I am necessarily "looking forward" to being there and the birth itself, but I think it will be a good experience.  I think it will be funny if I go early and we are there at the same times

@Jenn23: & @hopefulmama:  I've heard the same! The delivery rooms at Grandview are so nice and big now, but those aren't necessarily the rooms that you stay in. Just the rooms you deliver in!

So, can everyone say a little prayer for my SIL and her LO? She's going into surgery at 1 to have her kidney stone crushed and a stent placed. Just praying that the baby does ok with all of this going on.

@2PeasinaPod:  Congrats on being full term!  So exciting.  Will definitely say prayers for your Sis-in-law and her LO.  So not fun - kidney stones while pregnant are miserable.

@hopefulmama:  So cool that you have noticably dropped and you felt her working her way down there.

No big changes here.  It's been 9 days since I lost my mucus plug, and I try not to worry since I'll only be 35 weeks tomorrow.  My doctors told me not to worry since I'm past 32 weeks and that it's likely LO won't need to go to the NICU if she comes now.  I've been having contractions over the past 2 days and they are getting more intense. They are so far apart that we're just hanging out.  Doctors have told me to prepare for a September baby.  DH and I are ready but still holding out hope we make it to 37 weeks.

I got my maternity photos taken and can't wait to get them back.  They were a lot of fun.  Glad we got those done before LO makes her debut.

@Audreysdance:  Hope all goes well at your appointment! Keep us posted if you can!

@WinterWhite2012:  Hoping you make it to 37 weeks as well! If it's reassuring, my doc told me that once I made it to 34, they can do great outside the womb! So though I know the longer they cook, the better, your LO should be A-OK!

@hopefulmama:  Very cool that you've felt her drop! I'm looking forward to that. Right now, I can't talk for a super long period of time without getting winded! This little guy is pushing up on my lungs!

SIL ended up getting into surgery late (they're never on time with that stuff), so we're still waiting to hear, but thanks for everyone's prayers and good thoughts!

@2PeasinaPod:  Hope your SIL's surgery goes well

@WinterWhite2012:  Yea it was neat...not at 4 in the morning though haha.  Are you dialated at all yet?  Or just the mucous plug and minor contractions?

    @Audreysdance:  Exciting, good luck!

Anyone else getting totally distracted with work?  I feel like being at work are the longest hours e.v.e.r.  I am having such a hard time concentrating on things too.

@2PeasinaPod:  Hope your SIL's surgery goes great!! I have such trouble with getting winded, too. My little guy is pushing on my lungs these last few weeks, too. Hard to breathe and hello heartburn!!

@Audreysdance:  Thinking of you!!!! Can't wait to hear how the appt. goes!!

@hopefulmama:  Me!! I can't concentrate either. I was just looking at my calendar earlier and realized I only have two full weeks of work left now. AHH! I can't stop googling baby stuff and would rather be anywhere but at work these days!

@hopefulmama:  I'm only 1 cm dilated and 30% effaced.  So, not really a big deal.  I can do that for weeks.  DH and I both have a gut feeling she's coming late next week, but who knows.  How is SIL?

@Audreysdance:  You will have a beautiful birth.  Your son will enter this world knowing God gave him the perfect mother to give him a happy, fulfilling life.  So excited for you to finally meet your son.

@2PeasinaPod:  I hope your SIL is doing well

@Audreysdance:  CONGRATS!!! I'm sorry its not happening the way you hoped but I am very excited for you and can't wait to hear all about it!

So I found out yesterday I have Strep B! Woo HOO!! Not! lol I had a non-stress test that went fine but when I got home last night I felt wicked sick. I have felt like a fever even though I don't, I'm naseaus all the time especially right after I eat and I just feel  gross. I'm sure its fine and just the discomfort that comes with pregnancy, but I'm just done!

@Audreysdance:  Yay! So excited for you! Hoping you had your little one by now. :)  Can't wait to hear and I hope everything is going/went well with your labor and delivery!!!

@carriejuly:  That stinks you tested positive for the Strep B. So when do you start the antibiotics? Is it during labor they give them to you? I can't remember! I'm sorry you are feeling so sick. :(  I hope you feel better soon!!

Hope everybody has a nice weekend! We have our carseat inspection on Sunday morning with the local police. And just a few small things left to buy, but that is it. Just playing the waiting game now. I'm so exhausted all the time that I'm so glad we are done with mostly everything. I just cannot wait to meet our little guy and the time just can't go fast enough!! Hang in there, ladies. We are all almost there!!!!!

@Audreysdance:  Hope you have your little guy by now and all went well! Sending lots of good vibes your way and congratulations!!!

@hopefulmama:  YES! This is the busiest time of year for us and I'm so distracted. I don't want to do anything work related.

@carriejuly:  Boo for Strep B. My BFF also had it and they just had her on antibiotics during the birth. All ended up fine! I find out my results today!

@Jenn23: Yay for carseat inspection. Ours is on the 19th. It made me nervous with how easy the carseat was to install...so I hope we did it the right way!

Thanks everyone for the kind words for my SIL. Surgery went well and apparently, the stone was huge. She's not in any pain anymore (yay) and the baby is doing well! She should be going home today. Phew...I'm done with all of these scares! We need smooth sailing from here on out!

@Audreysdance: Hope all went well and you are enjoying your new little bundle!

@carriejuly: I get tested friday.  From what i've read, Strep B occurs in 1 out of 3 pregnant moms & is treated with antibiotics during labor.

@hopefulmama: I've checked out when it comes to work also.  Don't want to be here, don't want to do anything other than look up baby stuff.  I'm also training my replacement and it takes so long to train someone and I just don't have the attention span right now :(

@2PeasinaPod:  glad SIL is feeling better.  I've heard stones are very painful.

So i've been to our hospital dozens of times to visit friends & family.  We went last night for a breastfeeding class (so fun to have the DH with me on this one)  I was doing fine with the thought of delivery until I saw one of the rooms & the bed (it was an empty room) but it kind of made me think 'oh crap, this IS real and this IS going to happen'  must say i'm really a little nervous about the delivery now.  I wasn't before!  I'm most scared of the pain!  I had some intense BH last night and I started to wonder if I can really handle the pain?  I'm the person who passes out when I feel pain.  (broke my wrist, passed out.  tore my acl, passed out.  twisted my ankle, passed out)  I hope I don't pass out!

So yesterday was a pretty crazy day. Went to the doctor in the AM and found out he is done delivering babies in September. WTF?! I was angry and hurt, but held it together until the office manager asked how I was doing on the way out. I have been going to this doctor for 13yr and couldn't imagine a doctor I would feel more comfortable with. He is a genious and recognized highly all around New England. He will still be there to consult but will not be doing the actual delivery, I will meet my new doctor soon :(

Then I went into work and got laid off. Corporate came in an axed anyone who was support staff and not directly related to manufacturing. I was a little shocked. I am getting a great package that covers my maternity leave as well as my severance + insurance for quite some time. DH and I were still on the fence about me being a SAHM. We really wanted me to but with him being self employed we were a little unsure. Well this package will give us a little cushion and it looks like our minds have been made up. I will be the SAHM I always dreamed of! DH couldn't be happier, maybe we should have been a little more upset but to us it was sort of luck a sign and a little extra help to live the life we wanted. Yes, it'll be scary and luxury items will be scarce but we own a beautiful home and have new cars, so we don't need any big purchases at the moment.

Sorry for the book! Wishing the best for everyone.

@2Peasinapod- Hope your SIL is okay.

@AudreysDance- Can't wait to see a picture of your baby boy! I'm sure you will be the most amazing mom :)

@Carriejuly- So sorry about the negative test. I have to have mine done at my next appointment.

@roxy821:  Sorry about being laid off...though it seems that it provided the push you needed to be a SAHM. Definitely agree that it's more a good rather than bad thing.

@Meshka:  I'm starting to worry about the pain too but figure that if all other women have been able to get through it then I will too!

@2PeasinaPod:  Glad to hear that your SIL is doing well!

@carriejuly:  Sorry to hear about the positive Strep B test :(

My EDD is a little more than a week away so now I'm just playing the waiting game! My brother-in-law's baby boy was born last night! This period is so exciting for hubby's parents. Hoping that baby comes sooner rather than later. Not liking these sharp stabbing pains I get down there when baby's head bumps around!

@roxy821:  that is terrible about your dr! I would be so upset! I hope you like your new dr when you met him/her.

Well I visited my dr late last week & she said that my bleeding was my cervix effacing - I'm 90% & he's in -2 station. She said he will probably come before my EDD. Then fri & sat I had prelabor contractions all day. They stopped overnight & haven't restarted today (although I am still laying in bed), so we'll see. I have a feeling figuring out when "real" labor has started is going to be tricky. I'm solid on the "go to the hospital signals", but what about the "stop teaching these 20 8 year olds & go home" signals?!

It's all such a tease - I guess I just get to follow the advice I give to my students when they have a problem & "do my best thinking & make my best choice" Smile

@roxy821:  I'm so sorry you had such a crappy day.  I can only imagine how let down you feel by your doctor, and you have every right too.  Maybe much like you've decided to view getting laid off as the universe telling you that you can and will be a SAHM, maybe the universe is sending you the very best doctor for your delivery.  Here's hoping that when you meet your new doctor, you immediately like them.

So, I have to be honest, as much as I'm glad LO is still on the inside, I've about had enough of the pre-labor contractions.  It's been 5 days of contractions and they are getting strong enough to bring tears to my eyes.  I must admit I get a kick out of the horrified looks on peoples' faces in public when they think I'm going into labor right there in the store.  As much as I've been praying for her to stay in until 36-37 weeks, I'm okay if she comes sooner now.  I'm 35 weeks, 2 days right now.  I'm just getting verry anxious to meet her.  @mowi322:  I'm right there with you on being a little concerned that I'm not gonna know when it's actually labor for real.

@roxy821:  Sorry to hear about your job, you sound somewhat relieved though.  And that is amazing you get to be a SAHM :)

@WinterWhite2012:  I'm the same as you, 35w1d and am super anxious to meet this LO.  Although I have had zero labor signs unlike you.  Good luck!

I think I have decided I am over the whole pregnancy thing now and just want to have this baby.  I know keeping her in to bake a little longer is the best thing but man oh man am I exhausted!  I have been having bad lower back pains and some BH recently and she has moved down so hopefully the end is near.  Productive weekend, and I think all of her clothes are washed and put away now...if not a few more things.  Here is a comparison picture I took this weekend because I was wearing the same outfit :)  The first was around 24 weeks, and the second was 35 weeks.  My how things have changed.

@roxy821:  Sorry about your rough day... I would beyond frustrated that your doctor took you and waited this long to tell you about delivery! So not cool, but I hope the replacement doctor is amazing! Also sorry about your job I hope you you have a great stay at home mom experience and maybe it will give you more flexibility to look for another job in a few months if you want!

@WinterWhite2012:  @hopefulmama:  I second being way over it! My husband on the other hand hasn't gotten things ready yet with work so he is hoping for a little while longer! Everytime I tell him I think I'm having a contraction the panic sets in and he asks if we should go to the hospital! Quite Adorable!

@hopefulmama:  @carriejuly:  Glad I'm not the only one and it makes me feel a little less guilty.  I don't know how I went from freaking out about losing my mucus plug so early and being told that she would be a September baby to wanting her out now.  It could be the stress of knowing that it really is any time now.  Today I'm praying not to go into labor until at least Wednesday - so don't want my baby girl's birthday to be September 11.

@Audreysdance:  Woohoo! Congratulations again! So excited for you! Hopefully, you're getting some rest and enjoying your new little member of your family!

@Meshka:  Here's hoping you don't pass out from the pain! I think you'll be fine, but you're right! It's getting to be so real!

@roxy821:  Wow...you definitely had a rough day! I guess it's good that your employer sort of made your decision for you to be a SAHM...and at least you got a nice severance package that went along with it! that will be a nice start for you guys. As for your doctor, I agree that it's really crappy that he waited this long to tell you that he's going to stop delivering in September. You could have found a different doctor had you known earlier. Hopefully, you'll like your new doctor!

@baybee510:  So exciting for your BIL! And you're only a week from your EDD! We're all so close!

@mowi322:  Sounds like you might be one of our next fall mamas to go if you haven't already! Wishing you the best!

@WinterWhite2012:  Though I'm with you on being 100% over pregnancy (I think I was over pregnancy as soon as it started!), I'm not ready for him to be here yet! I feel really anxious about how to handle our mothers once he arrives. I just feel like they're going to be all over me, and I'm terrified of having PPD! But I definitely understand how uncomfortable we've all been and how it would be nice to get our bodies back!

@hopefulmama:  You look fantastic! I love that you have photos of yourself in the same outfit at different points in your pregnancy!

@carriejuly:  Cute about your husband panicking anytime you say you might feel a contraction! My DH is sort of similar...he just gets really worried when I have a contraction.

Things are going well here! I'm so ready to be done with work. My boss just keeps sending me things to do before I leave and I half wish I would go early just to get out of it all! I feel like he's doing it on purpose to try to get as much out of me as he possibly can.

I had the most amazing shower yesterday. I can't even begin to say how lucky I am that our family and friends were so generous. My mom and dad also outdid themselves as usual. On top of the shower and our nursery they bought our video monitor and aprox 12 gift bags full of outfits. The only thing we need to buy are some more sheets, breastfeeing accesories, bath soaps etc., and diapers and wipes. On top of all the gifts we even got money so that'll buy the extras and more. Just couldn't believe how generousour guests were, I think every spent at least $100.

I can't believe how many of you are so close! So exciting! Hope everyone can find some time to relax seeing as the end of pregnancy is near.

@roxy821:  Sorry you lost your job, but that's great about being a SAHM! And I'm glad you had a lovely shower!! I can't believe your doctor left so close to delivery. Hopefully you'll like the new one just as much!

@hopefulmama:  Love the side-by-side pics. :)  I look back at mine from 20 weeks and can't believe the difference!!

@Audreysdance:  Congrats again! So excited for you!!

I had a small gush earlier and freaked and ran to the restroom. I think it is just discharge but keeping an eye on it (to make sure not amniotic fluid). Anybody else have an increase in discharge? I'm worried I won't be able to tell the difference!

So we had our carseat inspection yesterday. Yay! Both bases are in both cars and we're all set. Our officer was great....gave us so much interesting info about babies and carseats and car rides. I'm so glad we did it and highly recommend everybody does it. More than half are installed incorrectly!

Hey all, just a quick update. I haven't had a chance to read through the posts, will do that tonight. We FINALLY start our child birth classes tonight! I'm due in 5 weeks and the class is 5 weeks long. lol Hopefully I last through the last class.

I also found out I'm getting a car seat at my shower - so excited as they are SO expensive here!

Hope everyone is doing well!! We survived Tropical Storm Leslie, just stayed indoors yesterday and relaxed.

@roxy821:  So glad you had such a nice shower! It's amazing how much our families love us!

@Jenn23:  Yes to the increase of discharge! I seriously didn't think that it could get worse, but it has! But keep an eye on it just in case. My doctor told me at our appointment on Friday that you can definitely tell if your water has broken. He said you'll pretty much need a towel between your legs if you move at all!

@crystlrox:  Glad you survived the tropical storm! And good luck at your child birth class! I have a feeling you'll be just fine even if you don't make it to the last one :o)

@Jenn23:  Yes to the increased discharge.  Isn't it crazy everything our body goes through to bring our LOs into the world?
