It’s totally normal. the OPK detects a hormone. That hormone fluctuates constantly throughout your cycle. Some people get very consistent results. Some don’t. Some get positives for 2-3 days, others have to test every couple of hours to identify their surge.

Do you know what cycle day you are?

Did you test yesterday at all? Some women have a very short surge, you could have caught one end of it.

You’re cycle will likely be quite wonky for at least this cycle if not longer. Coming off of birth control tends to screw with things for just about everyone. Also having PCOS tends to make things a bit wonky too. I’m sorry. On a positive note, you’re doing all that I would recommend – charting, doing OPK’s and checking CM.

id also recommend coming and joining the Charters thread. You can share your chart (do you have one of FF?) and get help with this whole process. There’s quite a few women with PCOS who can help you through all this new stuff

If I drink a ton of water then I’ll get a clear white one – do you think maybe you just drank too much?

I’ve heard that OPKs are not reliable for women with PCOS for this reason. However, like @Glasgowbound:  said, you’re going to be all over the place with just coming off BCP. If you stopped on July 1, it would be pretty early to O anyway.  Good luck, hope to see you over on the charters threads!

@ashleyr0512:  I hear ya!  I O anywhere between CD17-21, so I’m used to a really long buildup of OPKs.  Hang in there!

@ashleyr0512:  I used to get them all the time so I finally stopped using OPKs and just charted my temps and CM.
