(Closed) Family holding off on their RSVPs

Can you explain to the caterer the situation?  I should think that two weeks prior to the wedding would be enough time to order whatever food items they need.  Unless you are requesting pretty unique items.    It’s worth a try to talk to the caterer and ask the drop dead date.  It’s better than just waiting.  Best wishes.

This is tough because you could be stuck at the last minute.  20 people is a lot of extra plates to pay for if they end up not being able to come.

If the head count isn’t due for 6 weeks I wouldn’t worry too much. At that point you’re going to be like 2 weeks out from your wedding and the family will probably have made their decision. Couldn’t hurt to clue the caterer in though.
