family keeps inviting people to the wedding when we are already over our max!

Tell them straight forward that they will be paying for every single extra person they invite, and you’ll need the money as you get RSVPs accepting.

Stop I forming them of the “no” responeses. If they ask say you aren’t sure or that you are at max capacity.  I all else fails tell them you already ordered the cake and would hate to run out.

@fredericksondes:  UUGH I sympathise. My FFIL is exactly like this and I’m trying to proceed accordingly too.

If your family are asking to invite people then just tell them ‘No. I sent out the invites to my 150 closest family and friends and they are all I am inviting. Nobody else is coming and I don’t want to hear any more about this.’

If you think your family would be inconsiderate enough to just invite people behind your back then I would consider hiring some security to turn away anybody who doesn’t have an invitation/isn’t on the guest list. Don’t waste your time arguing with them. Just pay someone to weed out the ininvited people and let your family deal with the embarassing fallout of their unacceptable actions.
