Hi Bees!
Well I have enjoyed being a newlywed these past few months.. Since my husband and I lived together 3 years before we got married no big changes have occured other than we bought a TV together!! A really big one :) But other than that its been blissful!
On that note...I got married in December with an intimate city hall wedding in NYC with a total of 12 people including the 2 of us... It was a great mixture of local family and friends. The day was more than what I expected it to be it was just awesome! But there were alot of people that could not make it like 2 important people my parents and all of my family back home in NC. With that said my dad wants to throw me a reception next weekend when we go to NC for the first time as a married couple.. (side note my parents aren't together) Which is a great gesture and I am very appreciative...
But....
I am no longer in a wedding state of mind..My dad and his sisters has planned the reception and I have had no input into it other than the addresses and the colors that I like, oh and a first dance song... Even though I am not in a wedding state of mind my inner bridezilla is slowly creeping up because I have no control of this reception. I told them that I like red, white and black and my aunt took that as I want red table cloths! Thank goodness I was able to tell her that I want mostly white with accents of red and black.
Other than the dress you choose to wear the reception is the one other thing that represents the bride and groom and not to sound ungrateful or spoiled I am just afraid that its going to come off not the way I have it imagined in my head. Did I mention all I know of the wedding is where it is and the colors and that is it.. I am going in blind which adds more nerves the all of the other nerves of being the center of attention and the solo dance...
Sorry bees for the long rant but I can't really tell anyone else because I dont want to come off the wrong way... Any advice to calm my nerves will be well appreciated.. The event is Friday so I have a week to calm down :)
